This is so sad. It reinforces my commitment not to read women's magazines!

Disgusting. The snark is the worst part of this for me.

The magazine had the audacity to email the woman asking for permission to use her picture. Obviously, she would be excited and anxious for the issue to come out to see herself in it . Instead , they use it in a mean girl and bitchy way to make fun of her. That is unconscionable IMO

Isn't Self supposed to be promoting healthy, confident women, not shooting them down? It seems they're just as bad as the rag magazines.

That's incredibly upsetting - I can't even imagine how upset that poor girl must have felt after waiting for the magazine to come out and then reading that!

She mentioned after the apology that it shouldn't even matter that she's a cancer survivor, they shouldn't be treating *anybody* like that!! That is so true, I can't believe that such a popular magazine with so much potential for influence is actually making fun of REAL people!!

And for the record, I happen to love the tutus at marathons trend - I think it's fun!

Well there goes another magazine I won't be reading. Disgusting, what happened to empowering women not bring them down? SELF should be ashamed of itself, the woman was living "their" lifestyle and they still tear her down, what does that prove?

I agree that they shouldn't be making fun of anyone in that way. It's not right to mock someone and then decide it was wrong only because something about that person's situation made it publicly un-PC to do so.

I didn't know that running in tutus was a trend!

I think it was in complete poor taste of the magazine. I honestly didn't expect that of Self, but you know, it just goes to show you, people make poor decisions.
