So.....can we symptom spot here? This might sound super silly of me to ask, but does bloating fall anywhere on O or preg symptoms? I feel sooo bloated both yesterday and today, and hardly even hungry at all. I only have a small salad with greens today for lunch, and I barely finished that!

@MrsBrewer: Symptom spotting seems fine to me? We're all here top talk about getting pregnant. If I get any symptoms I'll definitely be talking about them here so everyone can tell me it sounds good/I shouldn't get my hopes up. I need input, and no one will want to hear about my spotting irl, lol.

@kick641: Okay good! I just wanted to make sure I'm not going to sound annoying on here or something!

@MrsBrewer: Isn't it ridiculous that just about every pregnancy sympton is also a symptom that AF is supposed to show up? I had wicked sore boobs last month and was all excited because, duh, pregnancy symptom, but yeah... also AF symptom, haha.

That being said, I think bloating definitely means you could be knocked up, especially if it's it's not a typical monthly symptom for you... fingers crossed for you!

@MrsBrewer: I symptom spot all the time, sometimes I was right, sometimes I was wrong. TWW is evil.

@raspberries: Well I'm only on CD 16, and I've never had AF show up on it's own, I always have to induce it with Provera. So I don't think it's AF showing up just yet!

Although I will say that I'm cautiously optimistic, because normally when I have to take Provera, to start my period, I always have a almost like a second period and I start bleeding on CD13, but I didn't this month! (This month I took Clomid for the first time!)

@MrsBrewer: Oh wait, you're just O'ing today, aren't you? So you're probably O-symptom-spotting, not pregnancy-symptom spotting. Unforunately, I'm one of those people who has absolutely no symptoms when I O, so I will be of no help here. Let me know when you're prego symptom spotting, because I'm definitely an expert at that!

  8. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@raspberries: LOL! Yes, I thiiiink I'm O symptom spotting, I don't know though. I'm charting and my temp went up today, so it looks like I may have just O'd or I will be soon maybe? Eek I have no idea. If I'm not preggo this cycle, I'm definitely going to buy OPK's for next month to try and get a better picture! I don't think I've O'd in the past, so I'm not even sure what to look for. Gosh I'm such a newbie. lol

@raspberries: Ahhh my first month ttc I had extra sore breasts before af and I was totally convinced we had already succeeded. I'm trying only to pay attention to really out there symptoms. I've been nauseous the past couple of days, but I'm only four dpo so I'm attributing it to stress. My husband thinks I'm crazy when I start trying to discuss with him whether I have implantation pains or cramps.

    pear / 1955 posts

@MrsBrewer: Oh man, that's exciting - here's hoping you get knocked up your first time Oing! If you do have to do the OPK route, I'm all for digital ones - so much easier than trying to figure out line darkness.

@kick641: Ha, my husband gives me the side-eye every time I say anything is wrong, regardless of where I'm at in my cycle - it'll be a day after O and I'll have a headache and he'll be like, "Baaaaaby?"

  11. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@raspberries: Good to know about using digitals! I'm just so hesitant because they re so darn expensive!!

  12. Eko

    nectarine / 2148 posts

@MrsBrewer: If it makes it any easier on the pricetag. I had a good idea of when I O'd before I bought digitals and really only used the digitals when I thought i was going to O. So that might be a way to think about it.

  13. raspberries

    pear / 1955 posts

@MrsBrewer: Ugh, I know, I was gonna say, the price is the only downside - but I bought a 20 count box on Amazon for right around $30, and I only use 3 or 4 per cycle, so it's lasting around 6 months. Maybe you could use wondfos until the line starts darkening, then confirm with a digital OPK?

Orrr maybe you could just go ahead and get pregnant this time around and not have to worry about it!

@MrsBrewer: Go with @raspberries idea and just get preggers this time around. That is a solid plan

@MrsBrewer: I tend to bloat around O too. Good sign!

  17. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Eko: @raspberries: I would LOVE to get pregnant this time around!!!

@Mrs. Microscope: Yay! Well I will be interested to see what my temp is tomorrow then! I hope it goes up just a tad more, that will make me feel a little more confident! Here's my chart right now.

  18. Mrs. Microscope

@MrsBrewer: With a higher temp tomorrow I think you can safely say you O'd day 14, and your timing for BD looks great. Now the waiting begins...

  19. Hoots

@MrsBrewer: So when I O'd last week I was so freaking bloated I could hardly sit. It made me think I'd possibly never O'd before because I'd never felt anything like that.

@MrsBrewer: agree with others. Digital OPKs are much easier!

  21. MrsBrewer

@Mrs. Microscope: yep, my fingers are crossed for tomorrow now!!

@Hoots: yay! Lol I mean I'm sorry you felt bloated, but maybe it's a good sign then!!

@hellobeeboston: next cycle for sure (if I'm out this time that is!)

  22. Hoots

    kiwi / 673 posts

@MrsBrewer: No worries. I'll bet we'd both take bloat any day over nothing happening at all.

Well I'm quite certain I'm out for August. Man that month sucked! I had two opportunities to POAS and they both were BFNs. Ready for AF and the next shot!
    Cycle Day:<1
    TTC Cycle #:3
    POAS date: 9/22
    Baby #: 2
Your plan this month: OPK, charting, and I may see a nutritionist to try to regulate whatever is going on with my body.
    Chart link:
Fall activities you are looking forward to: it's still so hot here that fall-ish activities don't happen until much, much later. But... DS going back to daycare, and Starbucks fall drinks....

Well my temp dropped when I took it this morning. I don't know why I'm so bummed, it's not like this is any different from other cycles! I think I just had really hoped that maybe I would have O'd this time. Who knows. maybe this morning's temp was a fluke, and it will go back up tomorrow.

    Here's to staying hopeful!!

  27. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@MrsBrewer: How did your temp look today? It must be hard waiting for ovulation if you don't know that you have ever ovulated before... I have ovulated in previous months, but this month on Clomid was drastically different. I experienced major cramping that immediately went away within hours of ovulation (confirmed with BBT increase and OPK).

Also, keep in mind that you may or may not ovulate within the 5-10 days after Clomid treatment. Some women still ovulate later and some not at all. Remember that stress will affect your body and if you haven't ovulated yet, the stress of the worrying may prolong the wait.

    Fingers crossed for you!

  28. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@travellingbee: ah man! However, it seems you have a good plan for Sept. A nutritionist is an excellent step...not just for pregnancy, but for quality of life!

It's still really hot here too...the hottest it's been all summer.

  29. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Bigskygirl: well here's my chart updated this morning with my temp. It's not a huge fall, but it's not the jump up in temp that I really wanted.

  30. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Bigskygirl: I know though too, that 5-10 is an average. I just hope that I actually do O this month. I didn't do OPK's, I will try that next cycle for sure if this one doesn't work. At the end of this cycle if I am not pregnant, and if my period starts on it's own, or if I have to take Provera to induce it, I will be going in for an ultrasound to see if this dosage of Clomid is working or not.

I don't think I've ever felt ovulation cramps before?

  31. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@MrsBrewer: I would keep up the BDing every other day just in case you ovulate later in the month. You don't want to miss it if you don't ovulate this month, they will likely increase your dose for next month. Are you supposed to call the doctor on any particular day for an update?

  32. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Bigskygirl: We will for sure keep up at least EOD, I definitely don't want to miss out just in case!

No, my doctor never mentioned to me to call him with an update within my cycle. He just told me to call him at the end of my cycle if I'm not pregnant, and then I would come in for the ultrasound, and we would go from there.

  33. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@MrsBrewer: If you normally don't ovulate, do you get AF? On what day?

  34. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Bigskygirl: Nope, AF never starts on it's own. I've have many 90+ day cycles. I always have to take Provera on CD 42 or so to induce my period and start a new cycle.

  35. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@MrsBrewer: if you have no signs of PG or ovulation by CD30, maybe you should call him to get advice on next steps. They could check your for ovulation or induce AF earlier than normal. That would be nice, right?

  36. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Bigskygirl: That would be really nice, but I remember my doctor saying once I originally started on the Provera regimen that CD 42 was the earliest because you could technically still get pregnant successfully until then? I don't remember the specifics of what he said.

I might definitely call him on CD30 though for sure if I don't have any obvious ovulation signs (cramps, or spiked temps, etc.) and just see what he says then. Great suggestion!

  37. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@MrsBrewer: I am no expert, or doctor (well medical doctor...I do have a PhD) so I would take my advice with a grain of salt. We just all have to look out for each other on these boards...that's why we are here.

  38. MrsBrewer

    coconut / 8854 posts

@Bigskygirl: I appreciate your suggestions/opinions! This really is what we are all here for! I feel like I'm so new to this, and I have so many (what I think are) stupid questions! I don't know what to expect or to look out for. I just want to be pregnant!!

  39. ballerinabee

    apricot / 452 posts

@MrsBrewer: that's so frustrating (AF not coming on its own, the temps being unclear, not sure if you o'd, the whole nine yards)! I hope you did O and the temps are just wonky today. <fingers crossed>

So, I thought that when OPKs were positive, you would O 24-48 hours later, but I had a positive OPK yesterday after work and I also had what felt like awful cramps mostly on the right side. I don't typically get ovulation pain, so I'm wondering if I have a cyst. I've had them in the past, and they hurt like that. So, I dont know if I O'd yesterday, or if I will today, but DH wasn't home last night and left at 5am today, so I think we may have missed the window.

  40. Bigskygirl

    cherry / 133 posts

@ballerinabee: I think the general advice is that after positive OPK, you "should" expect to ovulate within 12-36 hours. However, this month I ovulated within 8 hours of a positive OPK. Sometimes the body is confusing

Were you able to catch any days leading up to Ovulation (O-4, O-3, O-2, O-1)? Are you taking bbt temps?

I will cross my fingers that your timing was better than you think. Luck to you!
