@ballerinabee: Thanks! This toddler thing is not easy sometimes...
@RubyCali: Welcome! Oh man can I relate...see my post above about being driven to tears by my toddler last night!

@RubyCali: Welcome! We're TTC #2 as well. We've been trying since a year ago May, when my LO was 15 months old. He's 2.5 now, and he's either awesome and hilarious or a disaster. Ah, the roulette wheel of toddler-dom... He was a very difficult baby - preemie, colic, didn't sleep, screamed for just about the entirety of his first 14 weeks of life, didn't sttn until he was 14 months old. I'm terrified of any and all of that again, but rolling the dice

Asking for a bit of advice here: still no AF, and my cycles are never this long, until recently. I will start POAS tomorrow morning on the off chance of a BFP, but we weren't trying last month, we were avoiding, but hey, you never know!
My cycles are about 28-29 days long, with O on day 14-15. HOWEVER, in June, I could not detect ovulation, and I ended up with a 39 day cycle. Called my OB, she wasn't worried, says annovulatory cycles happen every so often, and since we weren't trying yet, she was confident that it wouldn't interfere with our September TTC plans.
It is September, and interferring.
Normal 28 day cycle, O detected day 15 in July. August I could not detect O, and started to worry. AF was Due on Tuesday, and today is CD 30.
I have heard of constant erratic cycles, but alternating normal and annovulatory every other month? Even having 1 ovary does not cause this, the 1 you have takes over. Is this a symptom of PCOS?
Sorry this is long, but thank you in advance for your help. I am worried that I won't get a chance to TTC this month, and that this whole journey is going to be really hard.

@Mrs. Microscope: I can't really help, but if you POAS tomorrow and it's a BFN, I'd definitely go back to your OB and let her know that something's off with your cycles. Especially if they were very predictable before - and since it IS interfering with TTC, it's better to double-check the easy things to double-check before you get too far in, you know?

@travellingbee: BFN yesterday, but still no AF. I'd certainly be getting a positive by now if I were pregnant, so I just wish AF would show already so we can get on with the next round!

@ValentineMommy: Another February momma! I'm sorry to hear about your previous MC. Even with all the excitement, TTC and pregnancy are scary. It's hard to have no control over the whole process. I'll be crossing my fingers for you!
@hellobeeboston: @raspberries: Thank you for the welcome! Good luck to you ladies too
@SeptMomma12: I don't know why I ever go grocery shopping before dinner. DD was screaming her way through the entire store last night too. I completely understand your breakdown!
@ballerinabee: It's funny, I have completely forgotten the pain of labor, but the emotional impact of DD's first 3 months of life still haunts me. Here's hoping for easy going second babies for us!

I had some hardcore spotting today. I doubt I'll hold out too much longer before AF arrives. This one is hard.

@Mrs. Microscope: I wouldn't worry too much yet. How long have your cycles been regular before they became irregular? If you used bc, when did you come off of it? I'd call and make an appointment. It's at least worth them checking blood work for your peace of mind.

@auggiefrog: I'm sorry! Fingers crossed it's just spotting and no AF!

@raspberries and @hoots: thanks for the the input ladies! I woke up this morning prepared to test, get a bfn and then call the OB to hwt some blood work done but AF decided to arrive, just to make me look silly on here. But hey! A 30 day cycle is better than 39, so maybe I just missed O? I plan to use my opks twice a day starting at day 9 and all the way to the end of the month if I have to just to catch the surge!
@auggiefrog: oh no! So sorry about AF!

@auggiefrog: boo I'm so sorry.
Mrs. Microscope; I don't know anything about PCOS, I'm sorry to say, so I'm of no help. My best friend had really erratic cycles (some normal, some crazy long or short) after a MC at 9 weeks, but ended up getting pregnant after that without intervention. I would def use opks and talk to your dr.
I caved this morning and used a cheapie. I'm only 9dpo, but I got a bfp with my LO at 9dpo, so I was hoping. If this cycle is a bust, I get blood work on CD3 and go from there. We've been trying since May 2013, and my DH really wants to take the laid back approach, but that's obviously not working for us. Trying to stay hopeful / positive.

I'm in the middle of my fertile period with a mucousy cold courtesy of LO. Oddly enough, I'm hoping that the cold helps the fertile period. I didn't do an OPK yesterday, but the day before it was looking good. Here's to lots of BD for the next few days.

@ballerinabee: I'm sorry about the BFN Will keep my fingers crossed that it's just too early! I think I said it before, but I didn't get the BFP with my son until the day AF was due.
I'm somewhere between 9-11 dpo here. I want to wait til Sunday or Monday, but I may not be able to resist testing tomorrow morning. We'll see if AF spotting starts before then...

@cotton: Welcome and good luck! I'm going hiking this weekend in New Hampshire, and I'm really hoping the leaves will have started changing in the higher elevations.

@auggiefrog: When I got pregnant with my son, the weekend I found out I had some flu bug or something...fever, aches, the works. Don't google early pregnancy and fever though!!! MISTAKE.

Never thought I'd be so glad to have AF arrive! Since I knew I wasn't pregnant, I just wanted her to show already so we can move on to a new cycle.
Side question: does anyone know if taking B6 when you DONT have a short LP can have a downside? I had one wacky cycle in April with an 8-day LP, and took 50 mg of B6 for two months after that. It did wonders for my skin, which has been a bit of a mess since going off BC. I worried maybe I shouldn't be taking it, though, since my LP is normally 12-14 days, and stopped. LPs are still 12-14 days without it, but my skin is back to breaking out all the time. Would resuming the B6 have any adverse effects?

Officially not pregnant because AF arrived today. Good riddance to that 38-day cycle and like @angelachase, looking forward to a new cycle of opportunities!
Odd reason to be happy about not getting pregnant yet? This means I'll be able to teach the full year, which means I'll be able to read Harry Potter with my students March-May

Ok, I might just be seeing things but does anyone else see a line? It's SO faint but I think maybe I see something there?!? If I had to guess, I'm 10-11 dpo.
pear / 1849 posts
Adding this one - definitely a line there. But this was about 20 mins after testing. Does that matter? Eek.
