Just found out our furnace is leaking carbon monoxide somewhere (just a little bit), but the air guy is going to have to shut off my heat and now we need to get a new furnace. I am glad that they are keeping us safe and making sure we don't die in our sleep, but come on!!!!! We have to buy a new furnace right after Christmas. I'm trying so hard not to be super sobby in front of him, but my pregnancy hormones are not making this easy.

I completely understand, because I just bought a house yesterday!! The sellers wanted to close before year end and this is the soonest we were able to due to the bank. Needless to say I was a bit frugal this year with my Christmas presents, which did not go unnoticed, lol!

Yes. We did get some money from my parents for Christmas, but we were hoping to use that to get hardwood flooring in our house. I'm guessing not now.
The service guy did say they are going to check and see if it's still covered by warranty because it's not that old....maybe 8 years. It just sucks being a grownup sometimes.

We JUST bought a new furnace 2 weeks ago... talk about a crappy way to have to spend money. I joke that every time we have people over I'm going to take them tothe basement and show them the new furnace... like it's a new toy that is worthy of being "shown off".
Being a grown up DEFINITELY stinks sometimes!

Well, here is some good news! The part is covered under warranty, so the big expensive part is taken care of. Now we have to take care of labor. Also, the new one could be here Friday or Tuesday. Please pray for Friday. It's cold here.

Me too! When I think about how if I wasn't having preventive maintenance, then there is a good chance that we could have died of carbon monoxide poisoning! I'm so thankful our baby isn't here now or that I'm not further along. Right now the house isn't too bad. I went and got a space heater to run only when I'm watching it and I'm baking so that is warming the house some.

Update:
Part is covered by warranty. All we have to cover is labor and now the $225 fee to ship it overnight. Otherwise it would have been Tuesday (!) before we would have got the new one. Sorry....Just can't do that! I've been cold all morning and usually I've been hot since I'm pregnant. Not now.
