C is 8 weeks old. Her naps are so unpredictable. It takes forever to get her down - like nursing for an hour, then she wakes up when I get near the cradle, bounce and rock for half an hour, and then if I'm lucky I can put her down. Then, she often wakes up 15 minutes later and needs to be bounced again. Then she might sleep for 45 minutes or 3 hours.
So please. What helps your infant sleep? Schedule, techniques, anything! Only 8 weeks so no CIO yet.
However, I do remember that a month ago when CJ was 8 weeks, I wanted things to be more predictable re: timing and length of naps, and they simply just weren't. She slept when she was good and ready, wherever she felt like it. Most often that was on my lap after nursing, or in the carseat or sling while we were out and about. However, right around then she also started being a champ at sleeping at night - 6 hours at a stretch or more. I was happy to go with the flow for naps in trade for good nighttime sleep! Things in the morning have started regulating a bit more recently, where she's awake at 8/8:30ish, and back down for a morning nap around 10:30/11. Afternoons are still a crapshoot. So...I guess my advice is just do what works for you and C for now. Sending big hugs. And just when you think you can't take it any more, it will change (so says a wise yoga teacher I know).
