I think I'm about to get my grandmother's industrial sewing & overlock machines! So excited! Though I haven't sewed in years. If you have a machine at home, where do you have/use it? I can only imagine that my super-light-sleeper would wake up at the sound of a sewing machine. My options would be: 1) Guest Room, next to nursery, or 2) in the Garage.
Anyone keep it in the garage? Would it be crazy to sew with the garage door open? OMG, talk about sweat factory. lol

How exciting! 
My aunts and grandmother had theirs in the garage but their husbands all did stuff in the garage so they kind "hung" out together in the garage on the weekends.
I personally had mine in the living room were DH hangs out when we were living in our apartment. Now in our condo I have it in the office where DH hangs out after LO goes to sleep. DH doesn't mind wearing head phones while playing video games though so that is something to consider.

I move mine around. Sometimes in the office if I'm doing something small. Right now it's in the dining room because I need the big table to lay my project out.

Ooh exciting! I have a small machine that I can move around so I am no help! I would probably try once during an naptime and see if K could sleep through the noise. If not, then move it to the garage.

Ooh, I'm so jealous! I sew on a Janome magnolia! and we keep it in the office right next to the nursery. It doesn't seem to bother her when I sew at night but she always wakes up when I try to sew during nap time.

She even has a TV in there for herself.

My mom used to have one of those industrial ones. I just have a small home sewing machine kept in the basement.
