I am 5 weeks and 1 day, and I really want to start making some things for the baby. I know it’s super early right now, so in order to stop myself from making all the things, I figure I would ask what everyone else is making/has made for their babies while pregnant.
I would like to sew a small rag quilt, knit a couple of sweaters, crochet a blanket and make some bibs and burp cloths.

For my first I made a small quilt and burp cloths. I’m 32 weeks with my second so I’m running out of time to make him anything!

My mom and her friend will already make a quilt and a crochet blanket! And another friend makes Easter baskets. I have made my other two Christmas stockings - pieced and quilted the stocking and done some cross stitch for name and decoration. So I’ll probably try to get some of that done this summer, except we won’t have a name until the baby comes!

Too lazy to open DD's blackout curtains so this picture is a little dark. But I made this for DD's room when I was pregnant. I also knit a small blanket but it's packed away.

I made my lo a crib sized quilt. She loves it and it's the perfect size to take on trips

For each LO I did the artwork for their room (watercolor paintings), and their mobile. DS's is little felt animals and DD's is a doily on an embroidery hoop with lace/fun ribbons cascading down.
I 'commissioned' my MIL to blankets for them that match.

Let's see, when I was pregnant, I made my own Boppy pillow, painted a series of sleeping animals on canvas and then handpainted a typography alphabet right on the wall over the crib.
I left the knitting to my MIL, haha.

I made my own taggie blanket, and crocheted a blanket for my daughter while pregnant. I actually worked on the crochet project starting the night before my positive test, I got a feeling.

I learned how to crochet while I was pregnant and then went to town... lol. I made a fuzzy blanket, a ton of hats, and a stuffed giraffe. My favourite crochet project was a mobile, which I actually didn't manage to finish until after my daughter was born, but I love how it turned out. I need to think of a new theme for a mobile for the new baby I'm expecting now!

I crocheted a blanket. But then I had to clean out my craft room to make it the nursery, so I put myself on a yarn diet and didn't buy anything else to make.
But my sister made a crib quilt and I've asked her to make a mobile. And I have four or five blankets from when I was a baby that were handmade, so there's plenty to pass on

I knit a stuffed bear and crocheted an elephant for my son when I was pregnant, and knit a stuffed bunny for my daughter. I used the bear and the bunny in their weekly and monthly baby photos.

I wasn't smart enough to start while I was pregnant, but I wish I had... I designed and created a felt Christmas stocking with lots of cool embroidery on it for DS. Based on this but with more embroidery instead of layers of felt.

I was soooo close to making a quilt during this pregnancy because I couldn't find any bedding I liked. Then I did so I am off the hook! I love sewing but I have a hard time carving out time.

I made my first a mobile and I stamped some burp cloths for her and I made a ring sling. For this one I plan to make more burp cloths and I’m going to recover a chair for the nursery. I’ll make another ring sling or two as well. My MIL and sister both made my first quilts and I’m expecting at least one of them to do that again.

@pwnstar: thanks! I started with a canvas, I used a yardstick and pencil to draw the lines, then used small brushes and paint to fill them in. The lines aren't perfect but I have come to love that aspect. So easy to do with a little patience.

I made baby quilts both times I was pregnant, and I made burp cloths and changing pad covers while I was pregnant with my first.

@Lahela017: Thanks! It's sort of a mix and match of patterns plus my own design.
The pattern for the blue fish (I added the side fins and used two colours) is here: http://suviscrochet.blogspot.ca/2016/11/sea-life-blue-chromis.html
The pattern for the starfish is here: http://greatamigurumi.blogspot.ca/2015/07/stella-starfish.html but I made it slightly bigger with longer arms
I modified this pattern for the octopus and jellyfish: http://blog.mohumohu.com/post/117524437877/amigurumi-octopus-pattern and I think I also made them a bit bigger to match the scale of the mobile. I just added some tentacles to the jellyfish and gave the octopus individual longer arms instead of the ruffly looking ones the pattern has.
The sea turtle I actually designed myself, but if you're interested in the pattern let me know, I'm pretty sure I wrote it down somewhere when I did it!

I think I'm going to copy your idea and make a similar one with those sea animals you posted and a couple I've done before. I've done a fair amount of amigurumi crochet projects, so I think I can tackle it. Now I'm really excited, this is going to be fun!!

It’s a tradition in my family that everyone gets a handmade stocking, so I made one for my son. My second is due in September, and I’ll make him/her one, too!
