So DH and I had sex Sunday night and Monday night. Tonight, Tuesday night, I got a positive OPK--and DH is asleep and won't wake up! Any idea if this cycle is a lost cause? 
I'm ready to knock him out haha!

Definitely not lost! I would still do it tomorrow morning or night to be safe, but the other 2 should be good too.
My surge just happened right before I O'd and I had my IUI this morning after O. Some people get a surge a day or two before O. The egg lives for about 24 hours...
Are you charting too? That will help you confirm when you're ok to stop.

DH and I only had sex time, 2 days before I ovulated and the day before I got a positive OPK, and we got pregnant this cycle, so definitely still a chance.

I wouldn't lose hope. Sperm can hang out up there for a few days. I've read a lot that having sex a couple days before ovulation is a good thing.

Don't lose hope!! I didn't realize the sperm lived for a few days, so we had sex, several days later got the positive OPK and used a condom (we were going to start TTC the next month) and well....here I am 14 weeks pregnant.

Do it tomorrow! But the sperm from yesterday might even do the trick - apparently sperm can live for up to 5 days or something!

Thanks for the quick replies! I guess we will see what happens! Cross my fingers, cause he is out like a light! & he goes to work early (430) so im thinking tomorrow am is probably out

Far from it. Sex before a positive OPK is encouraged. I think you're in good shape with BD there. Also, give him a rest. Every other day gives his spermies a day to cycle through.

Most advice I've read says to BD the day before and day of/day after, so you should be fine!
