By that point I had so much hip pain and felt like a cow that it was definitely not fun.

Sex didn't seem to make a difference, but I had acupuncture (first time ever in my life) 10 days before EDD to help ease pregnancy symptoms like nausea and insomnia, and my water broke that night! No idea if there's causation or just coincidence, but hell, I'll try anything so plan to do it again with #2!

It didn't induce labor for me but I think it helped to dialate. At 38 weeks I was 2cm and we DTD like everyday because I really didn't want an induction.

It totally worked for us! At 38 weeks I was 3cm dilated, 80%effaced and I had my membranes stripped. That week I walked a TON, did a lot of exercise ball bouncing, was drinking RRL tea. At 38+5 we DTD and my water broke an hour later! I definitely think it only worked because my body was ready though.

Haha, we tried on Saturday night and I'm still sitting here 39 weeks pregnant!

Heck no. At that point, I would have preferred staying pregnant to having sex. Ick.

We didn't bother to try, I didn't want to be touched. I walked and walked and walked and only got bh contractions. What worked for me was bending over to pick up a pen I dropped. That broke my water!

I think it induced labor. We did the deed Saturday afternoon and I went into the labor at 4 am!

Sex was one of several things we tried. We went on tons of long walks, had sex the night before labor and I had my membranes stripped the morning before labor started... My neighbor made her husband have sex with her like 3x a day for a week to get labor started.

@kiddosc: same. Sex the night before, membranes stripped the next afternoon, and labor started that evening. Maybe the sex helped? Who knows!!!
I was 41+5 when I went into labor so she was plenty ready to come... The sex and the membrane stripping may have had absolutely nothing to do with it!!

I always tell women who are close-- unprotected sex! I'm convinced that's what put me into labor with WJ! Never lost my plug either (came out during labor).
With LMW we tried multiple times after I lost my plug and nothing. She was not budging.

It didn't work for me but my close friend was not allowed to have sex from week 30 on during her last (3rd) pregnancy because her first two children were really early, and the contractions started because of sex!

Didn't work for us. I tried everything but castor oil, and none of it worked. Baby finally had to be evicted when she was almost a week overdue, due to low fluid.
