Share something positive that happened to you lately...
LO got glasses last week and has been struggling to get used to them. We went shopping yesterday evening and one of the store employees stopped to talk to him and told him what nice glasses he had. It was just a little thing, maybe even silly, but it completely made my day.

Oh, shoot. I can't believe no one shared anything on here yet. Okay, I'm reaching today... I got to work out on my lunch break! And my 11 month old is moving up to the next class at daycare next month which is cheaper. That's all I've got.

I was shopping last Friday after my OB appt. and a woman came up randomly to tell me I looked beautiful, just great, and asked how far along I was and if it was my first, then left saying I looked just glowing.
Very sweet!! Definitely put a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

I've been down since Friday. Vomiting, not eating and on prescription pain killers all from my period and all while solo parenting (today is day 9 since DH left with his new job), but today I feel fantastic! Both of my daughters have been sweet and adorable, im finally able to run around and play again and I've been making up for lost meals. I like to eat so that's totally a plus too!

DS (15 months) accidentally knocked a little girl over in his daycare class this morning, and without prompting, he helped her back up, patted her arm, and gave her a kiss on the shoulder.

My son had a rough night, but gave me a spontaneous kiss this morning while cuddling. A wet soy milky kiss, but so adorable

I brought the kids to visit my husband at work during his lunch break to help cheer both of us up. He cried this morning over the news. The happy part is that it was such a lovely visit and restorative in so many ways. I am still so lucky to have an amazing feminist activist husband and two brilliant kids.
The silver lining here has to be me waking up and working harder

DD 22 months last night woke to come into our bed, after trying to get her to stay in hers we let her come in.
She patted my back and said "Mommy I rub your back!"

This is more funny than happy, but I am 7 months pregnant and just saw my 3-year-old nephew. He told me my belly was really big, and I said thank you, and asked if he thought it looked good. He told me I look like Gloria and I asked who Gloria was. "The hippo from Madagascar!" he said. Hahaha. Oh man. That'll keep me laughing for a while.

I was leaving this morning and LO asked where I was going. I said the doctor, baby sister needs a check up. She said but I gave her one yesterday and she was fine. I told my OB and she told me to bring her to my next appointment and she would let her do the wand and measure my belly. Which I think is really sweet and LO will love.

When I went in to get my son up this morning he had no pants on. "B, where are your pants?" "I took them off because I wasn't cold!" (pause) "But now I am cold." He also yelled "Cinders and ashes!" as an exclamation so I think we need to cut back on the Thomas.

My LO1 is officially going to be babysat by my MIL. The peace of mind it'll give me is priceless. And LO2 (currently pregnant) is a girl!

DD (21 months) hasn't been very verbal, and I've been super worried about her expressive language. Today she said "peas" (please) totally unprompted.
Then she accidentally ripped a sticker in half and ran around the house telling "oh no!" Over and over, super clear.
The microwave just beeped and she yells "beep! Beep!"

my husband is out of town this week, so naturally I am letting my son sleep in my bed. This morning right as I was waking up, and admittedly a bit bummed, he also woke up, smiling ear to ear. Out of nowhere he took my face in his hands and sang "you are my sunshine" to me.

This morning as I was dropping my son off at preschool one of the little girls was standing at a table getting ready to draw. The chairs had not been put out yet and she asked my son to help her. He went and got a chair for her and helped her sit down. It was the cutest, sweetest thing ever.

My husband came home from daycare pickup with this story from his teacher: B approached her, tears in his eyes, and asked for a hug. When she asked him what was wrong he said "I just miss my baby brother." Got a big hug and then ran off to play.

@youboots: my niece went through a phase of "what's that?" around 15 or 18 months old. she was constantly asking it, but so much fun to see them noticing things and learning.

@SweetCaroline: so cute to hear them talk! oh no is one of my favorites and those cute little "peas"! my LO is 2.5 and has been behind in his speech too. he has been saying thank you, mama and thank you, daddy unprompted a ton lately. so exciting #1 because he's talking and #2 because i desperately want him to have good manners!

I am heartened by the number of people stepping up to take action and care for others through donations, volunteering or simply acting as a safe space.
On a more personal note, today is day 4 of weaning my 16 month old DD. I thought it was going to be awful, as she was still boob obsessed. But she has taken it like a champ.

I love all of these so much!!!
I had my yearly review yesterday and my boss randomly offered me a bottle of chocolate milk to take home to the kids. It was such a small thing, but it gave me the warm fuzzies on a day when they were badly needed.
