-I almost went to school to be a mortician.
-I come from a long line of gypsies and carnies. My mom's side of the family owns traveling carnivals. My great grandfather died when he fell off the trapeze.
-I think empire penguins are the most terrifying creatures on earth. The small ones don't bother me though.
-I
the Golden Girls.
@heartonastring: I also did hunter/dressage!

Oh you're all so cool! I love this thread.
- I was born in a country that no longer exists
- I wear a hard hat and steel toe boots at work, but deep inside just want to be girly and wear dresses every day
- I spent two weeks in the Alaskan wilderness with a few friends. It was heaven!

I will play! I love new things about everyone!
- I long to live somewhere with year round warm weather (70+), but can't bring myself to be that far away from my mum.
-My paternal grandmother's family come from a long line of travellers. (gypsies)
-I work in a medical office but I long to work out in the field for NatGeo magizine.

Loving this thread! Now let's see what I can come up with:
- I sing in a metal band and a classical choir. (neither professionally) They're so far apart musically that neither group can believe it when I share the music I make with the other.
- I am allergic to allergy tests - no matter what you test me for, I'll come up positive for it, regardless of whether or not I will actually have a reaction to it.
- I've always been a gigantic fan of the Law&Order shows, and often have the opportunity to use things I learned on the show at work (but I never tell where I got the information!)
- I am completely freaked out by those giant modern windmills. They're just WRONG! I had to pass one on the way to work for two years and cringed every single day.

You people have had some amazing experiences!
I can't think of anything really interesting.
Let's see, I wrecked my parent's car when I was 14. I was ejected and I ran for help. Lucky, lucky bunny.
I'm going on the radio for a program on Monday, and I'm scared to death!
My friends find it interesting that I'm the only Texan they know who didn't run straight back to Texas when I had the chance.

1. Without planning to, DH and I spent 2 Thanksgivings in a row in communist countries, 2010 & 2011. We thought about making it a tradition, but there aren't that many communist countries in the world!
2. I skipped 2nd grade.
3. I did a fundraiser for an orphanage that involved jumping out of a plane.

I'm a jazz musician (studied jazz for ten years on sax) turned guitarist. I can impov to any song and constantly make up new songs and versions of other songs and I can connect songs (I have a deep memory base of a multitude of songs I can layer and transition into one another).
I have worn only shoes made my birkenstock (and subsidiaries) for the last 15 years. Even in my wedding!
I have lived outside and off the grid multiple times, hitchhiked for an entire summer, and attended a college program that was outdoors 3 days a week.
I was in a commercial about basketball and modeled in college.
I can remember almost anything!

-I was a synchronized swimmer for 8 years.
-I cannot stand cotton balls. Even typing that made me shudder. I can't stand the sound of them, or taking them out of medicine bottles... gah..
-I'm obsessed with all things British. My grandparents were from England but immigrated to Canada after their first son was born. I regret all the time not moving there for a year or whatever after high school.
- I'm painfully shy and get anxiety in large groups. My husband is the most out going person ever. I have no idea why we're married.

Another violinist here! Or rather, former-- I played from ages 5-18. Quitting was maybe the most gut-wrenching decision I ever made (I'm really bad at quitting things!). I learned to play by ear and never quite got the hang of reading music. I wasn't a very good orchestra player!
I had a parakeet growing up. I spent hours masking kissy noises at him and thought we were really having a conversation
I'm really bad at accepting or asking for help, except from dh or my parents. I need to work on that, esp now that lo is here!
