Ugh, I was cooking hard boiled eggs and forgot to set the timer... I left them boiling on the stove for probably an HOUR, and JUST remembered them!! All the water was gone, the eggs exploded in the pot, and the pot looks a bit ruined. Hopefully I can salvage the pot (a nice calphalon one!) with a good scrubbing before DH gets home in an hour, haha. #FAIL

Oh no! Were you able to salvage the pot?
FYI, I don't hard boil eggs with the heat on. I put the eggs in a pot, cover with water, bring to a boil, and then I turn off the heat. The eggs cook in the hot water in about 25 minutes. So if you do that, then at least you'll never boil off all the water and potentially ruin a pot!

Oh I went to the store to buy disposable diapers for a trip (we normally use cloth). I called my SIL and had this whole conversation about what size to buy. Then I picked up a box of clearly the wrong size (I was thinking 4 or 5 and bought a box of size 6). It wasn't until about an hour after I got home I realized my mistake!

My brain fart moment? Just now. I read the title to this post as "Share your fart moment of the day" and thought "I farted while I was running on the treadmill! LOL...yeah I need sleep apparently.

@Andrea: That's actually how I usually cook it!! But I left the stove on while bringing it to a boil... oops. How long do you usually let it sit for? I read somewhere like 7 or 8 minutes but find that the yolks are still a bit under at that point. And yes, I was able to salvage the pot!! Thank goodness for Bar Keepers Friend...

@sweetchic: I do it for 25 min! It doesn't seem over cooked. There is no green in the yolk. I read that green means over cooked.
