My LO was in NICU for first 10 days... so I'm sure they have a record, of the first 24 hours. I don't though

Are you guys serious?
All I remember is a whole lot of sore nipples and some black poop. That's the extent of our first day's memories.

@CupQuakeWalk: lol, DS was 6 years ago! There's no way. There also weren't apps like that then, lol.

I probably won't even be paying that much attention to it with this LO, either. I'll forget.

@ Mrstiz: Crying! Yes, I knew I was forgetting a big thing. Lots of self pity.

@Adira: I wish I could tell you I had the brain power to work an app that day. I think I might not have even had my phone charged

ETA: oh no, wait...I obviously did because I took pictures!

I was on mag sulfate so I don't remember much of the first 24 hours. I could barely hold my own child because I was so out of it from the drugs!

Oh man...just looked this up on BabyConnect. Its painful to remember - my poor boobs.

I remember pain from tearing, bleeding, trying to feed LO without much help from the nurses. I was a deer in headlights during that. I don't think it was until after his first day I changed his diaper. DH did the first diaper changes. I remember the nurses would take him for tests screaming, then come back asleep, and swaddled. Their swaddling impressed me in those first days.

@Adira: Oh man, I just remember crying, propped up on the couch with my nursing pillow, talking to my doula on the phone. I was like "Why is she so hungry? Can't I just give her a bottle?" and having my doula talk me off the ledge. It was EXHAUSTING (but my milk came in really fast.)
