I find this so sad, and I can't believe people would actually do this. Do these people honestly have no respect for animals? All for a meal of shark fin soups. Really people?
I've also been catching up on old episodes of Whale Wars, and I just can't believe how incredibly salvage those people are that kill the whales.
I have a HUGE soft spot in my heart for all animals, and it really just pains me when I read articles like that.

I can't read the link (because it will make me sad) but I have a really big soft spot for sharks in particular because of this terrible thing. I understand it from a delicacy point of view, but it's no longer a delicacy, it's a trend, a very bad and destructive trend.
I've also heard that the shark fins add no flavour to the soup, only texture. What a waste.

@.twist.: agreed! Plus when they fin the sharks they just throw the carcasses over board to let them die, because obviously they can't swim.....it's just so hurtful...

@MrsBrewer: I think a big part of it is that they don't understand the impact it's having on the world, and it's also a job. Which I get, but I wish someone would educate them. A whole lot easier said than done.
I watched the documentary Shark Water, which was so incredibly heartbreaking. The only think we can do is to help fund shark habitats and donate to the cause...
