Both sides of the family are old school, babies need discipline early kind of people. So I basically hear, "She's got your number," or "They're smarter than you think" or " She knows exactly what she's doing!" EVERY SINGLE DAMN DAY.
That's right. My daughter is an evil genius, plotting the next opportunity to manipulate me to meet her basic needs. Oh, and I am an imbecile, because I keep falling for it and taking care of the little master manipulator!

Babies don't have the ability to manipulate...and even if they are a bit older and "testing" you, that's just what they're doing -- testing the boundaries so they know what's acceptable behavior and what isn't, not hatching some evil plot! Oy. People.

My husband thinks this, and it annoys me so much. As if a 3 month old possesses the mental complexity to manipulate me... If that's the case, lets go ahead and potty train him and teach him to read, because he's a boy genius.

Haha yeah, I had this conversation with my dad yesterday. He told me I was spoiling my 2 month old by running every time she cried, and that she'd get too used to it and be a brat. I'm pretty sure at 2 months that's not possible

Who says I don't enjoy feeding my LO and taking him in walks? I hate hen these things are made to be "spoiling" kids whn they are just basic needs. So bizarre

Ugh. My MIL told me I had to stop letting the baby run our lives because I was "still" BFing at 5 months and we wouldn't just leave her to cry in her crib one evening when she had a cold and was interrupting dinner. Ridiculous
