Hi everyone, I'm new on here! I've got a 10 month old boy and we are just about to start trying for our second. I've been reading up on the Shettles Method for conceiving a girl but I'm SO skeptical. Has anyone on here been successful (or not) with this method? I'm just LONGING for a girl so very badly!

We weren't using Shettles to get one sex or the other, but based on Shettles timing, this baby should be a girl. But it's a boy! (LO1 is a girl)

Based on what little I know about Shettles (we never tried for a specific gender) both my pregnancies should have been girls by a mile but I have one son and am pregnant with another boy. Apparently each of those sperm wanted to live forever.

Based on Shettles, my son should be my daughter. I really don't think it's a theory that you can put much stock into.

Worked for me. My boy was conceived on O day when EWCM was in abundance, and my girl was conceived 3 days before O. I know its 50/50, but from what I've seen in my circle there seems to be some truth to it.

My DD should be DS according to both the Shettles method and the Chinese gender calendar.

We weren't trying for one or the other, but based on ovulation timing, if I understand correctly, my son should be a girl! He's clearly not!

We were trying for a boy and according to Shettles, our 2nd DD should be a boy. But it feels stupid to type that bc she is so amazing that I don't even care that I'll never have a son. I love having my two girls. We are not planning on a 3rd but if for some reason that happened, I wouldn't try to "sway" one way or the other bc it doesn't matter.

According to Shettles both my kids should be boys. We actually followed the recommendations when we conceived DS but I had read enough not to believe in it when we conceived DD.

I'm pregnant right now and this fetus was conceived 5 (!) days before ovulation. I was pretty curious about the Shettles method, too, but from the answers above and this post that I found a while back, it sounds like bullshit? I actually googled "hellobee shettles" and there are a bunch of posts on the topic that all make it looks wildly inconsistent; i.e. not more reliable than 50% chance. I'm hoping to find out my gender this week, so we shall see

We weren't trying to sway, and had sex right at ovulation, so DD should be a DS, and she's all girl! If you're really interested, there's theories about woman's ph being more hospitable to male or female sperm that supposedly has more teeth to it then shettles.

I never tried for one sex or the other but my DD was conceived on what was 0-4 (according to my dating u/s) so i thought she'd be a girl!

We did try to time for girls both times loosely using the method, and got girls both times.

I do think anything in O-3 to O+3 could be a 50/50 toss up. But I do wonder if there is more accuracy the further from O you go in either direction. My daughter was way before O and a girl, this baby was also way before O but we don't know yet. I'm unsure of when my son was conceived but it was probably in the normal fertile window.

My son was conceived after ovulation so that's in line with Shettles. But my daughter was conceived on O day so she "should" have been a boy according to the theory. There's no way to guarantee having a specific gender other than doing IVF with pre genetic testing.

Both my girls were conceived at 0-3 so that works for Shettles.
