In-laws get such a bad rap (though sometimes well deserved) that I thought it might be fun to share our best stories about our in-laws. I completely won the in-law jackpot, so I have a million good ones to share.
From the first time I walked in their door my in-laws have made me feel like I was one of the family. My MIL and I love to shop together, and we talk about fashion, house decor, and family. Since we got married where they live, she went with me to a lot of vendor meetings and was so supportive but didn't take over at all. She also lent me a ring that FIL had given her with DH's birthstone for my "Something Blue" to tie to my bouquet. I smile every time I see the photo of it.
Right before our wedding, FIL volunteered to help me move to DH's city and was such a good sport the whole time. He also makes sly comments about us having a baby, which I think is really cute. I'm glad he's excited to be a grandpa!
My SILs are still in HS. One of my favorite memories was when one decided she needed to "plank" at the corn maze we were at. So we all held her up to the top of the corn while my MIL took a picture. The photo is hilarious since you can only see her laying on top of the corn stalks. I love when the oldest one texts me about college stuff and gets roommate advice from me. I love that she just thinks I'm a normal big sister.
Last, one set of his grandparents are some of my favorite people on the face of the earth! I actualy bug him to go see them all the time. All his grandparents are so kind to me, but this set I just really click with. That grandma is totally who I want to be in 40 years--she's so legit and her taste in everythig is A-MAZ-ING!! I love hanging out on their patio, drinking wine, and visiting for hours.
So, what are your best stories/memories of your in-laws?
Most of all, they all absolutely think DH is the best thing since sliced bread, which makes me happy!
