Fostering is close to my heart, and it tears me apart knowing what children go through.

My friend fostered an older child, and it has been amazing watching her life transform. My friend's life too! I feel so bad about the children in the system who need a home, so awesome that your family will be opening yours up!

I have it on my heart to foster one day, and I am very open to what we are meant to do in the future. I would very much like to do this. We will see where we are when the time comes. It is truly a blessing to be a family to kids who need one. I know many foster families who impacted kids lives for the better.

@Silva: Court Appointed Special Advocate. Basically, you are matched up with a foster child and you represent their best interest in court. It is a volunteer position for laymen only, you don't have to have a background in law or any experience with social work. Good if you have a flexible work schedule or if you are an SAHM with kids in preschool. Not so good if you work a 9-5 or don't have daytime babysitting options, because you have to go to court. That's why I've had to give it up for now!
