DS2 was just diagnosed with short gut/bowel syndrome due to the amount of intestines they had to remove due to NEC. Has anyone else dealt with it, either with their LO or personally? I haven't heard any rumblings on HB but thought I'd make sure.

@beaker: No. But my first medical malpractice case was about a LO who had SGS.

My LO did have an intestinal malrotation surgically corrected a 8 months. But she didn't lose any of her bowel.

@MsLipGloss: DS2 only lost 15cm of his, but I guess he didn't have much to begin with because he was so small. Are you allowed to talk about the case? I'm curious.

@beaker: It's been settled for well over 5 years now. The short version is an ER doc missed a malro dx. Ultimately, he needed a multi-organ transplant. He was missing approx 75% of his bowel. There were a lot of complications from the feeding tubes.
ETA: transplant was successful
