So below is what is printed in my hand book. From what I am reading, this sounds like I could get 12 weeks of leave? Is that right? Or because the wording says "up-to" does that mean it will probably be lower? I'm not going to talk to HR because well, I'm not even planning on getting pregnant any time soon.

I'm not pregnant yet or anything, but I still would like to look into this before the time comes so I can be informed!

Short-Term Disability Insurance is provided to eligible employees, as a non-contributory plan. The purpose is to replace a percentage of pre-disability earnings on a weekly basis.
Claims and Proof of Loss must be submitted within the timeframes and per the guidelines as specified in the plan documents. All claim review and determinations are made by the insurer.

Plan Highlights:
• Seven day elimination period
• Maximum benefit is up to 60% of pre-disability earnings, not to exceed a weekly amount of $2,500
• Maximum benefit duration is 12 weeks
• Predisability earnings are based on the last full day of active work
• Days worked while disabled may count towards the beginning date
It is company policy to encourage the employee to return to active status (Full or Part-Time) as early as possible. Light duty or Part-Time work will be available to the employee provided a physician determines it appropriate. There is a return to work benefit which is your short term disability minus one-half of your work earnings.
Benefit accruals, such as vacation, sick leave or holiday benefits, may be suspended during a leave due to a work related injury leave and will resume upon return to active employment.
Before returning to work from a disability absence of three days or more, the employee must provide a physician's verification that he or she may safely return to work, with restrictions noted, if any.

What do you think? Am I reading this wrong?
