LO woke up with the most disgusting boogey nose this morning. Whole left side covered and big chunks of boogers all over his face. He and his bed were also covered in vomit. He doesn't have a fever but seems tired/fussy. Should I call the doc?

Nah. He probably just had all those boogies come out from the force of the puke. I'd just watch him and if he pukes again then call the doc.

Better safe than sorry. If the doctor doesn't think it's anything to worry about, they won't have you come in.

Totally up to you but I wait things like that out. If there's no fever and he seems fine, my reaction would be wait and see.

We just left the doctor. LO started with similar symptoms and ended up gasping for breath last night with a croupy cough. It hit hard fast. They think it's croup so they didn't give us any medicine, but when we called the after hours line last night they were concerned about bronchitis or RSV.
I think it's better to be safe! At the very least, they gave us some tips on how to keep him from getting to the point where it's hard to breathe again.

@rahlyrah: Interesting, when we had croup last year they did give us some medication for it. Hope your baby is feeling better now..
@jedeve: I would definitely call and talk to someone. I may not go in for an appointment yet, but it is good to check in and know what it is about. The nurse may also let you know if you need to go in or not. Best wishes!

@MamaMoose: @mediagirl: I agree and would wait for a bit, absent a high fever or repeated vomiting/diarrhea . . . I may be a weirdo, but I prefer to keep my LO out of the Ped's office when I can to make sure that she is not exposed to anything worse than what she already has!
If you're on the fence, call one of the nurses and she what s/he recommends.

I would see the doctor, but I'm over cautious to begin with. The vomit would be enough for me to go in. LO has a common cold right now. Luckily, we had an appointment already planned when we saw the doc. His cold is more snotty and cough heavy than previous ones. It was enough for me to be concerned. He's already had croup this cold season, so I thought it could be this, but wasn't. Lots of sleep, water, and Tylenol has helped.
