Baby is early @ 35 weeks, previous baby was a c section due to failure to progress (Charlie was 8 pounds and 6 ounce) after three hours of labor.
Labor is progressing quickly. Thoughts?

I'd say it depends on how Bee feels. If she feels up to it, then I'd say give it a try. But if she's losing energy fast I'd probably go for the c-section. It also would depend on how long the medical team would be willing to let labor progress if it was to stall down the line. If it were me I'd probably set a rule like I'll try for a VBAC but if at any point labor stalls for more than x amount of time or Dr's think it is going to become a hazard to me or the baby, I'd opt for a c-section.

Do you have an idea of the size of baby? I might try a VBAC. THinking of you.

I don't know anything about vbacs!! Haven't done any research since RJ was born vaginally and no planning for the second yet... whatever you guys decide to do, good luck!!! Give Bee my love!!

MrBee, when did Bee get the epidural. How far along is she, and how far along has it progressed? I was at 4 cm when I got my epidural (at 1pm) and gave birth at 10:50pm. If it's moving rather quickly and she's feeling okay... then I might try a vaginal birth seeing it is faster and easier to recover. but only if she wants to and the docs thinks it's okay.

Baby is a girl and is early. Bee gained 22 pounds this time versus 45 last time. That's all we know...
Forgot to mention, Charlie was face up last time, which contributed to the c-section.

She got epidural at 8 pm, was at six cm around 9 or so. Contractions started at 5, and we were at hospital by 6:45 or so.

I had the exact same birth as Bee (including exact same weight of baby), and I'm going to try for a vbac when I get pg again. You can do it, Bee!

only 3 hours of labor with charlie (first child?) - wow that's amazing! if bee is up for it and everything seems to be progressing well and smoothly, i don't see why she can't go for the vbac. good luck to you guys... whatever happens, the most important thing is that mama and baby are healthy!!!! can't wait to hear the good news and more updates!

P.S. I love the realtime updates from you, Mr. Bee... haha of all things you could be doing while your wife is in labor.

The recovery might be quicker with a VBAC and since it's happening so fast if the risk is low and Mrs. Bee is ready I would say take a shot and give it a go!

Congratulations!!!
One of my girlfriends had an unplanned VBAC. She went in for her scheduled C-section and the hospital was pretty busy that day. By the time the doctor got to her she was already dilated and I think half an hour later her daughter was born!

Congrats! She's so little. Do you have her name picked out yet?
Also, how is daddy & the new big brother?

No name. Charlie at home with a nanny. Baby is in nursery now, after we got to spend some time with her.
Dad is taking notes on everything so Bee can blog it later.
