Hi bees !! Did your DH/significant other spoil you today? I woke up this morning with one box by my bedside and the other at the bottom of the stairs (of course quarantined off so my little dog wouldn't get curious).

Nice! We don't do gifts and I don't like flowers (well, I like them, but so do our cats and I work at home so they are just not worth the hassle of the cats constantly eating/knocking them over).
But I did wake up this morning with a card and a bag of ghiradelli dark chocolate mint squares next to my pillow

We don't exchange gifts for holidays, though I did get some earrings as a premature (2 months early) "push present" in December. My husband did go out in the slush this morning to get breakfast at our favorite bakery though.

We have gift hangover around here. DH's family goes insane over Christmas, and then his birthday is January 20th, so we're gifted out by the time Valentine's Day rolls around (especially because we send V-day gifts to our moms, his aunt, and his grandma every year) that its a chore. We set a $30 limit this year. He ordered me fair trade roses from a school fundraiser and I got him a tie rack. We are boring.

DH totally surprised me this year! He had a custom canvas-wrapped print made-- it's of a tree with our initials carved into it and with 2 little birds in the branches.

We went to NYC for 5 days which included amazing dinners, tickets to The Book of Mormon and Super Bowl tickets so we are good. Usually we go out to a nice dinner but maybe next weekend bc my parents just watched LO for 5 days and I don't want to press my luck
