T needs a pair of sneaks for the spring/summer when he starts walking. Trying to decide on a brand/pair.
What sneaks did your baby boy wear when he started walking?

We LOOOOOOVED our pedipeds!!! They were ridiculously easy to get on and off and stayed on his feet, and I felt like they went with everything.

My friend got me a pair of Ralph Lauren shoes for DS. They're in his room and he's napping right now so I can't snap a pic.
Just checked RL's website and seriously.. shoes are so cute!

second Pedipeds, @mrs. wagon! DS could kick off everything except these.
now at 15 months, he's rockin' Vans.

@mrs. wagon: I was trying to decide between these and robeez!
@rachiecakes: Adorable. I want to get him vans or chuck taylors for later in the summer when he's around 15 months!
@chopsuey119: Oh wow those are so cute!!

@winniebee: he was in Robeez (or the Target equivalent, Ministar, because his fat feet couldn't fit into Robeez) right before the Pedipeds. Robeez were great for crawling but once he was walking, I wanted a shoe that looked more like a shoe rather than slippers. Especially since the Ministars were so ugly!
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@winniebee: check the website. they have cuter ones that I didn't screen shot!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mrs. wagon: these were the robeez I was looking at since they look a little more shoe like...but maybe the pedi peds are more sturdy?

@winniebee: ah yes, the non-slipper Robeez, I totally forgot about those! Those are super cute.
Wagon Jr. has wide feet so Robeez were not an option, alas that's why I forgot about them!! Pediped was one of the only brands I found that could fit his feet.

@winniebee: Those robeez are really cute! I'm sure they would be fine for when your DS is just walking.
Another big fan of pedipeds here. I got his first pair on sale on Amazon for 17 bucks. Haven't been able to find quite as good a deal since, though! Now as a confident walker he is in the Grip n Go line of Pedipeds. I also got him a very inexpensive pair of shoes from payless that are like knockoffs of the RL's Chopsuey posted. His daycare teachers complained that they were staying on his feet!

These are on sale at the Kinderbliss website, $18 final sale, not including shipping.

@chopsuey119: I bought the white version for B for easter!
We have pediped, adidas and SKR.

@winniebee: I just got him these Chuck Taylors but they're still a bit too big, so he hasn't worn them yet

@winniebee: I got E both of these from BRU for $29.99 each but used their 20% coupons on both so I think about $24 each

@littlek: wow that's quite the shoe collection! T hates shoes so far so I've just had him in Kiva Nui booties all winter!

I got LO this pair of Converse at their outlet, easier to put on without dealing with the laces.

@rachiecakes: OMG - love those!! love the Vans too.
Stride Rite has a bunch of adorable baby shoes! they have little keds which are so cute, or tiny sperrys

@TurtleDoves: We have thos pumas too. Soo cute!
@winniebee: Yea, he wears shoes all the time at daycare. I have a shopping issue. Right now, SKR are the only shoes that fit him. He's in between sizes at Pediped. I like SKR but I LOVE pediped. DH bought B like 5 pairs of Pumas, but they are all big right now.

don't forget the Sperry's for spring/summer (I have a shoe problem)

@rachiecakes: love!!
i was thinking of just getting him a pair of natives (in red or yellow!) for the whole summer. he's not walking yet at all (but a chubby 10 month old, so hopefully soon?), so i don't know what to do!
would natives be too 'unstructured' for a beginner walker? i dont even know if they make them in baby sizes

@rachiecakes: me too! those are adorable!!! I was thinking about getting these.. but i'm not sure how versatile they are

@littlek: so cute!! love those
when he was tiny I got him a few pairs of L.A.M.B. crib shoes, they're lined in cashmere!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@tysonja: Have you looked at SKR? They run very wide which is good for chubby feet.
@rachiecakes: OMG, I die... adorable!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@rachiecakes: LOL we have some sperries for summer!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@winniebee: oh, when T is walking with confidence, promise me you'll stalk the New Balance factory store like I do! They have clearance bins all the time so I've never paid more than $15 for a pair of NB sneakers. I stock up when they have them and he's had a pair for every size since size 5!

@mrs. wagon: @winniebee: and then stop by and say hello - I work next door!

@rachiecakes: haha nice!!! let me know if you know anyone who wants a 1 BR condo in the area.. we're putting ours on the market soon!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@rachiecakes: So close to me!
@mrs. wagon: we're putting ours on in less than a week. aaah!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@winniebee: omg so exciting! Did you see the Boston.com article about the upturn of the market and bidding wars?? It's a great time to sell!
Talk about a threadjack... haha!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@mrs. wagon: yes ma'am! we are hoping that rings true for us....our realtor thinks it will!

I got two pairs of stride rites for B and they fit his feet great.

@TurtleDoves: That first pair was the best shoe ever! They were super comfy for my LO, they come in different colors, they were great for his chunky little feet, and they were super quick to take on and off.
I'm totally favoriting this thread, I've been on the hunt for new shoes for my LO lately, but I've struggled because of his wide feet so there are some great suggestions here.

@rachiecakes: I know I saw that!! RJ's old "Josh" style is on there!!! ahhh I loved those shoes.
Alas, I don't like any of the baby girl shoes...!!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@rachiecakes: thanks for the heads up!
Apparently T has midget feed. Size 3's were much too big even though he's 10.5 months!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@winniebee: B has small feet too. Did you try SKR size 6 - 9 months? They fit the best. The pediped size 0 - 6 is a little too small and size 6 - 12 month is too big.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@littlek: I haven't tried SKR yet. I'm going to get some pedipeds on zuilily tomorrow (I think) but going to get size 2.
Super cute pic!
