I'm making cupcakes for LO's birthday. It's a bow theme so I think I'm just going to tie a bow on the top of toothpicks for a topper. Not sure what kind to make yet though. What kind did you make?

I made triple vanilla poundcake cupcakes with Italian Mirengue Buttercream icing. I used natural food coloring because Ellie has a dye sensitivity. They went over really well.

@Smurfette: yup! And the cake too for my BFF's sisters wedding! Doing about 300 cupcakes for my brothers wedding in September!

@Mrs. Twine: Off topic but what kind of sensitivity does she have to dyes?

@LindsayInNY; They seem to affect her mood and behavior. If she eats something with dye in it her hyperactivity goes through the roof, her defiance amplifies... it's acts sort of like a drug. When we elminated artificial dyes from her diet, we noticed an improvement (certainly not like a day/night difference, but an improvement). It is amazing how many places food coloring lurks!

@Mrs. Twine: I have eczema and ADHD and have wondered if additives like that were a factor. It's so hard to notice subtle changes in yourself though!
