    @Adira: @mamachin: dumb question...how do you get the garland to stay on your mantle?

  4. Adira

    @BeachMama: Not dumb! I have three 3M hooks attached to the mantle that I hook the garland on.

    @birdofafeather: I saw yours on IG-- love that fake fireplace wall hanging, it's so creative and pretty. And of course the baby way ups the cuteness factor.

    Here's a quick iPhone shot of our tree, with my girls inspecting the handprint ornaments they made.

    For those of you with the trees high off the ground. Do you all have real trees? Mine is so low to the ground! I usually have to set presents "around" and not under the tree. Lol

    @regberadaisy: Ours is low too! It doesn't look it in the picture though.

    @BeachMama: I just put it up and it stayed, like a Christmas miracle.

    @regberadaisy: My FIL used to put their real tree on top of some soda cases so more room would be under the tree for gifts. You can also ask for the guys to trim off some of those branches when they do that cut for the water.

    @HabesBabe: haha I have a fake.

    @regberadaisy: oh, hahaha. well i think putting the stand on something works the skirt would cover it anyway.

    Your homes and decorations are so lovely. We don't celebrate Christmas, so don't put up any decorations. I just hang cards across the front of the fireplace mantel. Jealous!

    We have a pink tree this year since we were on vacation last week and opted to skip a fresh one this year.

    Our tree is a little different! We cut it ourselves on my grandparents' property. It's a very young Douglas Fir, not farmed to be a Christmas tree, just growing naturally in the woods. We always pick trees that are crowded so that we can leave one in the same place to grow into a big tree. It makes for a less perfect, but I think charming and unique tree. Also, the less dense trees have so much space for ornaments deeper in the tree, which I like the look of. We're not big on decorating, the only other decor we have this season are white lights on our eaves.

    We are in a new house and I had a lot of fun decorating! (A to of it is Target...including dollar section.)

    I love this thread!! I'd like to participate with photos from last year since I didn't get around to decorating this year (babies came early!).

    We live in an apt in the city so all of these houses are making me green with envy!
    Here is our mini tree. I was afraid to do our normal full sized one with a curious and newly walking 15 month old! Though he has left it alone entirely. I purposely didn't do balls this year since he is obsessed with balls and I know he would have gone for them!

    I love all of these! Here's a picture of our built in bookshelves and fireplace, and our tree. We have our stockings hung on the bannister going upstairs as we use our fireplace all the time, but I didn't grab a picture of them.
