We just moved and we plan to add a patio/fire pit to the back yard between our raised deck and cement walk down... we are going to build stairs from the deck down as well....
I'll post a few pics that I have, although they aren't the greatest...
The patio would be to the left of the deck in the top photo. There is an open space between the deck and walk out from the basement

I love it. It's easy to rinse off with the hose and has held up perfectly for three years so far. We had it professionally installed and we haven't had any trouble with weeds trying to come through the cracks.

This is ours we did last year. We don't use it as much as I'd like due to being on night shift. We don't have a ton of time in the evenings to sit out and chill.

@Ajsmommy: I have to say, we got a portable one 6 years ago when we moved in and we never use it lol. But I think it's just us; weather by us is either too cold or too hot, so it's hard to find the perfect time to be out. And it gets too smokey for our liking too. We totally wanted to be the cool sit by the firepit for hours people! But you seem to have so much space, that I'd for sure build one. You never know how much you might love it!

@graceandjoy: good point about the smoke though.. we have a play set and that will go out back too.. but we'll need to try to make sure it's far enough away from the fire pit so that if the smoke blows that way it'll dissipate before getting there....
