Here is mine! In general I like it. Pro/con of the system - she can't reach everything herself. It means I can restrict some toys to only times with adult supervision, but as she gets older there are fewer of those.
Also, I really like the plastic hard sided bins instead of the fabric ones, they're just much more durable and washable.

Our playroom is tiny! But it's nice that almost everything can live in it even if she plays throughout the house. The main storage in the playroom is a 3x3 cube shelf. The bottom row has large plastic containers, the middle row has smaller boxes with lids (2 per cube), and the top row has miscellaneous things. We have board games and art supplies that need supervision on the top. When she was younger there were laminated pictures on the front of the various containers to make it easier for her to find things and pick up.
She also has a play kitchen in there and it holds all of the play food, kitchen sets, and tea set. A small plastic container for indoor balls and trucks and a large canvas tote for stuffed animals and dress up clothes.
Her books are stored in the living room, her room, and a bookshelf in our hallway. She has another canvas tote in her room with stuffed animals.
Excuse the mess!

I'm also working on an art cart for her. Currently 90% of the art supplies are on top of her child size table and it is always a mess. I'll share my inspiration pics.

This is what ours looked like before moving (we're in an apartment waiting for our new house so no playroom currently). I liked it - DD could get toys out of the bins but couldn't make a complete mess of the books.

@catgirl: I like the lids on those bins! Are they from Target? I have some shallow ones like that it would be nice to stack but I've never seen the lids before.

I don't have a picture currently but we have a row of the Trofast bins from Ikea. I have a few extra bins so that I can cycle through different toys to keep interest. We also have a cabinet that holds all of the puzzles and games we've accumulated.

Always a mess
All storage (shelves, boxes, bin) are from IKEA
Actually those black drawers inside the shelves (which you can not see vey well) are from amazon.

@MountainBaby: They are from target but they don't make them anymore! Which is frustrating because I would love more. The lids make them really useful.

@catgirl: darn!!! I was excited when I saw your photo with these boxes.

The toy storage is 2 IKEA trofast units with shelf board between them to hold the doll houses. The art area is always in use and always a disaster. I would love to have better organization there, but it’s serving its purpose for now 🤷♀️

It’s kind of a mess right now, but our main storage is the IKEA Trofast shelves, and then some soft sided bins (the one in the picture is for dress up stuff, we have another full of studies) and a small hanging rack. The bookshelves have kids stuff on the lower shelves and my overflow books on the upper.

We have this giant kallax attached to a kitchen cabinet type base. It holds a ton but isn’t the best for organizing the smaller toys as the kids get older, so I’m looking into different baskets or boxes to help with that. Art stuff is all separate because I can’t trust my kids upstairs alone in the playroom with art supplies! Those are in the kitchen at a kiddie table in the corner. On the other side of the room are the play kitchen, baby cradle, and a little dress up closet thing to hang their dress up clothes and tutus.
ETA: note the blue painters tape I used for labels and the many stickers permanently stuck to the drawers next to it. 🤦♀️🤷♀️

We don't have a playroom, so her toys are all in her bedroom and in our living room. That means I'm pretty strict about how many toys are in circulation at a time and I try to keep storage looking pretty. We have one of the Ikea 4 cube thingies by our door and two of the bins are for hats/gloves/grocery bags and two are for her toys. There are also a few other bins/baskets tucked around the living room with more toys, but they look like regular living room decorations. Up in her room she has a built in shelf thingy, a small three drawer storage thing for her doll clothes, and a big bin for stuffed animals.
The biggest thing for us is that every toy has a home where it fits easily and she can get it out herself. It makes clean up so much easier when you know where everything goes and you are shoving toys around to make space.

@erinbaderin: I love the hanging dress up clothes! That's so cute and practical.

I'm all about bins as you can see. I just reorganized and got rid of some stuff.

@Dahlia: Thanks! We stole the idea from daycare, and got it at Jysk!

@mrskansas: We don’t have a play room but I’ll share my son’s room toy storage! Shelves from ikea, baskets from target....

I did a bit of a purge of toys and books and besides an ottoman of dress up clothes this is what is in LO’s actual play area.
Huge fan over here of all the storage bins. Like toys are grouped together and can be taken out and put back easily before moving on to another toy. ETA: there’s a floor bin not pictured.
For now I’m keeping LO’s purged toys in a box in the garage and if he asks for something specific I can bring it back in. His books have already been donated.

@catgirl: I like that first inspo pic of the extra components tacked onto the cart.
Here’s LO’s current cart. We have room to grow into more supplies.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: where did you get your cart? I'm looking for something like that for all the art/school supplies.

We don’t have a playroom, we had toys in the living room and their room. But we are transitioning my youngest to a bed so I got a bunk bed and completely reorganized their room. All toys now reside in there!
The 12 cubby storage shelf contains all the legos and k-nex, I’m still in the process of sorting. I also used binders and page protectors to store all the instructions. The fabric bins will be used to store completed LEGO sets.

@KT326: IKEA, we have it in the blue, but there’s also black and beige options.

@mrskansas: we have the same kitchen that @catgirl: posted. DD has it in her room and it is awesome for storage. We also have a kallax shelf in her room. For my 2 year old we have this toy organizer by B.spaces

This is my DS's bedroom toy storage AND his playroom (which is right off of his bedroom). Please note, we also have a plethora of fabric toy bins by 3 SPOUTs in the livingroom along a wall by our entry way. (🤔 My home is inundated with toy storage! )
🤔 Ignore the little "monkey-boy" in his [monkey] onsie as he plays with his kitchen. 🧁🥧
