I've never shredded chicken before and made some slow cooker chicken today. I put the whole chicken in there and had to shred it off the bone... and I felt... like I was murdering the chicken. Even though it was dead. Seriously! Shredding a chicken is morbid.
I try to live in denial that when I eat meat I'm eating what used to be a live animal lol I just choose to ignored that.

i saw this awesome trick on pinterest, where if you're using boneless skinless breasts you can put them into a kitchenaid on a low speed and it shreds them right up - literally in seconds
it works really well, and is a fantastic!
i hate shredding chicken with my hands, its just so gross sometimes

Raw chicken disgusts me. If we have it, I almost always buy boneless so I won't have to touch it. Ugh...just thinking about it is making me gag.

@Sweet T: Oh, I cooked it first then shredded it right in the crockpot.
@PastaAndPotato: I used a fork and knife. No way I'm doing it with me hands!! It was already covered in BBQ sauce.

@PastaAndPotato: I did that the other day with a pork shoulder and it turned out awesome! It really took the work out of cooking to use the slow cooker AND kitchen aid!

HAHA I always shred chicken. I always shred the turkey after we're done eating it too!! Easier to store in the fridge!

I made chicken soup the other day with boneless breasts that I cooked right in the soup...after it simmered for a few hours I was able to just mash it to shreds with a potato masher right in the pot!
