We are potty training and my 2.5 year old started holding her poop. She hadn't pooped since 3 days and was in discomfort so we gave her baby suppositry and after half hour she started vomiting. She is miserable and i feel so bad for making her go through all the pain n discomfort. Has anyone experience this??

@Jass: my guess is it's not a side effect of the suppository but more a side effect of constipation. But if the vomiting continues, see what the doctor says definitely.

Oh no. Poor girl. Mo experience with baby suppositories. Have you tried puréed pears or pear juice or prune juice. Gerber has a prune apple juice in the baby food that doesn't taste as bad as straight prune juice.

We gave DD suppositories a few times for constipation and she never vomited. Definitely check with the doctor if it continues.

@junebugsmama: I agree, constipatuin can cause nausea and vomiting but I doubt the suppository would.

Hmm, we've used suppositories plenty of times and never had vomiting. Sorry she is going through that!!!

@anonysquire: yeah i have read so many people giving suppository. At this i am not sure it is suppository or something else. I feel like i should nt have started potty training at first place. Mommy guilt

@Jass: Prunes, prune juice and pears worked really well for us. I would make them into ice pops for DD and she loved it.
