We started LO on prevacid a few days ago, and it's too early to know if it's helping, but she seems more gassy than usual (painful gas). Anyone experience this? We're doing a 2 week trial, so i'm going to give it a few days but I just wondered if anyone else had this happen. Her ped had mentioned diarrhea could be a side effect, but not gas.

My LO has been on prevacid for over 6 months now and I never noticed any side effects.

@Mae: @Mrs Green Grass: ugh, that's what i was afraid of! I was hoping it was just a temporary side effect but it could also be a sign it's not going to work for her.

It could've just been my imagination, but DS seemed to do worse on it. We switched to Omeprezole/Prilosec after a week anyway.

We've been on Prevacid for gosh maybe 18 months now, and she's never had any side effects.

Sorry to hear that - could it have been something you've eaten recently?
We used Prevacid for almost a year with no side effects.

@BabyBoecksMom: i guess it's always possible, but neither of our diets have changed recently other than the fact that she was refusing to eat a lot before we got her on the drugs. She seems to be eating a little better since she started it, but tough to tell since it's only been a few days. My diet is as monotonous as they come, haha, so i would think it would more likely be something she's eaten than something i've eaten, but who knows?
