Besides your water breaking, contractions, or losing your plug did you have any initial signs of labor or that things were going to start soon?

Throwing up! I did start having really random minor contractions before that, but I did start throwing up right before labor really got going. I threw up a TON throughout labor.

I would say cramping and back pain were signs of labour starting for me.

I felt compelled to do certain things, like I couldn't rest until they were done. Then I took a nap, and cramping started within an hour of waking up.

Nope! My contractions started after my midwife stripped my membranes. I had 2 nights of contractions prior to labor from bd but they didn't stick around longer than 10hrs.

Nothing I can think of. I had the classic signs you mentioned.

I felt like I literally had to get everything out of my bowels! Contractions started later that day!

Following this! I'm 38 weeks, and I've been having period like cramps for a few days now ... Nothing regular, but I'm hoping this thread will encourage me!

I just felt like I was having menstrual pains and sometimes I get IBS...and I felt like I had that. My body started "clearing out" before my contractions started. I felt "off" and asked some friends about it and half a day later, I was sure!
