I like them even though they are so expensive! I wish I could have one in each room!

I actually got a full size one at Goodwill once for $5. Score! My husband couldn't believe there was such a thing as $100 trash cans, but we did end up buying another one later!

I agree! We got one for our kitchen and the people who rented our last apartment when we broke our lease asked us if they could have it! I was like heck no, that thing was 60 bucks!!
It's now two years old and still looks brand new, I love it!

I didn't even know this existed.... the last thing I need is to start coveting another expensive thing DH doesn't think we need! lol!

We registered for one but didn’t get it. I guess our families felt that a $159 garbage can was ridiculous (which it is). A few months later, I scored a brand new one (same model as what we registered for!) at a garage sale for $8. They were asking $10 but I don’t pay sticker. If that’s not a score, I don’t know what is.

I like the look of them but cant commit to paying that much for a garbage can

I used to have one and loved it, but felt that it didn't hold enough so we got rid of it when we moved.

@LemonLong: That's freaking awesome!!!!
I've been wanting one, but haven't bitten the bullet to purchase it yet.

We have a big rectangular one in the kitchen and 2 small ones in each bathroom, all of which we got on sale (still pricey). Honestly, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about! I see nice, much more affordable ones at places like Homegoods and Marshalls and am sure those would work just as well!!

I have the 40 litre slim step can and I LOVE it. Its plastic so it was not too expensive. Its thin and fits in little spaces but tall. My trash bags never fall into the can and I can actually fit a lot of garbage in it. I used a 20% off coupon from bed bath and beyond when I bought it.

@LemonLong: My husband was furious that I spent our wedding gift cards on a $100 trash can. Now where ever we go he points them out. I think he would buy one for the baby's nursery if we had the $.

I was actually the one who scoffed at the idea of a $100+ trash can for the kitchen, but my husband really wanted one. I love it. Love it. Is that weird? It's actually really satisfying to use - the top closes so nicely, and it has that little lip that you can angle the inner bin on to change the bag. Yes, cheaper ones do the same job, but I admit that this is just a really well-designed garbage can. (Ok, yes, it's weird that I am so excited about this.)

I'm a fan too! I recently bought two small ones and used 20% off coupons at Bed Bath and Beyond to soften the blow. Do you guys buy the special liners too? I just use plastic bags from the drugstore/grocery store; they don't fit or stay up nearly as well as the Simple Human ones, but I"m not quite ready to start spending a small fortune on specially made bin liners yet!

@LemonLong: What a great steal BTW, maybe I need to keep an eye out for one!

We have a large one in our kitchen and a little baby one that we use in the bathroom. We got an awesome deal at Home Depot for them... I believe both were under $70!

@MsInformation: I buy the special liners after a few attempts at being frugal with regular bags!

I bought a simple one from Home Depot for about $35 that included a smaller bathroom trash can. It's not fingerprint proof, but I don't mind. I wish I could afford the nicer ones, but I'll take my cheap find for now.

My mother-in-law just got one for Christmas (funny present, right?) and she loves it.

We got ours on sale and think it's waaaay better than our previous trash cans. Totally worth it!

We registered for one for our nursery and got it last week! I was so pumped.

We have one but it broke! The lid stays up and you have to put it down manually. Lame.

DH loves those trash cans, especially the ones where you can lift the inner basket halfway up and rest it on a little ledge inside so it makes changing bags easier. He also likes how sleek they look and that they keep odors out! We never owned a diaper pail for this reason.
After our move this year, he wanted the sensor one... I was so against it because of all the bad reviews, but he won the argument and I guess I'm used to it now. It's a little wonky (sometimes opens when ur just walking by)... annoying. And of course recently they came out with a better idea... You bump your hip against it to open it. Wish we got that one instead!
