Does your older LO ever take a bath in the sink? My kids did as a newborn, but then didn't for a long time. Recently though we had to put one of them in the sink to wash them off for some reason and since then they will occasionally ask to take a bath in the sink! I'm not complaining because it's fast and easy and they surprisingly still fit, and they think it's so fun! I remember seeing pictures of myself as a 4 year old taking baths in the kitchen sink

We don't have a bathtub in my house! So, hopefully my daughter continues to like the sink. When we move, a bathtub is going to be a requirement! ha.

Never. I've never given them a bath in the kitchen sink and don't really plan to.

Logan just got a sink bath the other day because of a blow out. It was just easier to clean him up in the sink rather than deal with the whole tub and having to bend over! He wasn't a fan though, so I won't be doing it again unless I have to.

No. It grosses me out. All that food goes in there, raw chicken juice, even after you clean it, I just can't.

@bao: how did you prevent your baby from sliding around? We could probably skip the infant tub if we used our kitchen sink. Its deep and large. The only downside is the open space will likely get colder faster than the bathing in the bathroom.

@Smurfette: Right? This is why a bathtub is a requirement when we move! We have a two-family now and don't rent out the top floor to anyone, so the upstairs kitchen is my designated bath space! No food, just baby bums

@Smurfette: meh, it gets washed out before and they touch nastier things. I mean they've pooped in the regular bath tub several times, I was it, all good! And I'm a legit germaphobe. @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: DH usually helped me in the evenings! One held and the other washed. We only bathed them 2 times a week at that age so it wasn't a hassle at all.

I imagine that we'll probably do this once my baby's older. Right now, at 5 months, all baths are in the bathroom sink.

We used to put DD's infant tub on top of the kitchen sink? It was the only place that would fit. I can never put DD directly in the sink... I think it's too gross!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I also have this... I used it when she was younger and couldn't sit up. It was a life saver! It was the only way I could give her a bath by myself at first. I put it in the infant bath tub, but it would work in a sink as well.

@Smurfette: same here. I don't want my baby where things like raw chicken has been, and I don't want to wash my dishes where a poopy baby butt has been. Can't get past it.

We do wash her hair using the kitchen sink though! -
We only gave her baths in the sink when she was an infant and even then she was in an infant tub that just rested in the sink...so she's never had a bath in the actual sink.

Came to the conclusion I'm gross....but the sink is clean and the water just runs while we do it so no floating nastiness. I'm guaranteeing my kid has put nastier things in their MOUTH

She doesn't fit in our sink but she LOVES getting her hair washed in the sink! I pad the sink with towels, she lays down and I pretend to be her hair lady. LOL. Maybe I'll try sponge bathing her since she is vetoing baths and showers these days.

I tried a bathroom sink bath and it was just too awkward so we do showers with our 4.5mo and I will continue that until he's big enough to sit in the tub and for when a bath is too much trouble.

No, the idea of it grosses me out. But quite frankly, so do baths in a tub.

Never.. I've washed LO's bum quickly in a bathroom sink for blowouts but never a full bath, let alone the kitchen sink. Idk I just feel weird doing that with the food germs, though that is probably irrational.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: have you seen the blooming bath? We have one and love it. I used it with lo 1 for probably 10 months and lo2 until she could sit unassisted.

@MrsB2012: I have seen them before, but never took the time to read more about them until now. That definitely would fit my kitchen sink though. How long does it take to dry out?

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: It has a a tag on that back that's only sown on either side so that you can hang it to dry. It takes a bit to dry if you ring it out. You can also wash them in the washing machine and put them in the dryer too. We loved ours, it was definitely in my top 3 most recommended baby items after my first.
I am a huge germophobe, though.
