Do you ever skip parts of bedtime routine because your LO is fussy/overtired? This doesn't happen too often, but tonight DS started crying when we began reading books so we went straight to nursing and lullabies. Just wondered if this happens to other folks, too ...

Yup. Books have been skipped for us too. So have lullabies when he just passes out nursing

We can't even implement a routine because LO screams all evening. So yes?

Ever so often we'll skip her bath. Two or three times we've skipped the whole thing and just given her a bottle after swaddling her.

Yup. We skip books, bath, singing...a crankster baby gets a sped up process.

Oh yeah. We skipped bath and books tonight to make sure we didn't get to a cranky point!

Sometimes but not often. Our bedtime routine is pretty short and can be done in 1/2 hour: bath, dry off and put on PJs, butt paste, sleep sack, bottle, paci, hold/rock for a little while (not to sleep) and then put her in her crib.
ETA Oh and then repeat a step or two til she actually goes to bed. I also will let her fuss/cry a little but pick her up if it gets to be a full blown cry >5 minutes.

Yep! Sometimes she gets washed down with a wash cloth or bath gets skipped all together. We aren't good about reading every night either. Fail!

We skip bath time every once in a while. DS has been giving me a hard time during his bedtime routine over the last week or two so we've been skipping stories.

We skip bathtime every once in awhile if LO is super cranky or falls asleep before we get to it!
