I got the Skyla IUD today and wanted to post about it. I hadn't heard of Skyla until a few days ago. It's similar to Mirena, it's hormonal but it's smaller and releases less of the hormone but only lasts 3 years. It's recommended for women who haven't had kids.

I have a LO but never dilated due to the circumstances of his birth. The insertion felt like a pap, it was really fast and nearly painless, just a little uncomfortable.

I've had a little cramping, but nothing worse than a mild period. I'd highly recommend it!
