Has anyone used Skype as a baby video monitor? I always do with my iPad and Iphone when I want to shower while LO is napping. Works wonders! Puts my mind at ease. I love technology :)!

Wow, that is a good idea. Although with your iPad and iPhone, couldn't you use FaceTime app? I notice that the quality of FaceTime is better than Skype.
I am a Mac household with iMac and a MacBook. I don't have a iPad yet. I may ask for that when I get pregnant. Anyway, I know there's a way to make your iMac or MacBook a security cam. I considered doing it so I could see what my dog was doing while I was at work.

@bluestriped bee: facetime works too! i like using skype because you can turn off the camera on your end so that LO doesn't have to see what you're doing. i don't believe facetime has that option.

I have thought about setting this up, but kept thinking I needed a special app for it that I needed to research about... well, duh! Now I realize I totally overlooked Skype/FaceTime! LOL. Thank you!!! I've been avoiding video monitors because of the security reason... Don't want anyone outside being able to see LO and the inside of our house. Creepy!

How do you do this? I haven't ever heard of it!
We use a Foscam for a monitor when needed, it's got its own secure IP address so no one can watch it except us.
