So my son is 15 weeks tomorrow. He's been a rockstar sleeper since the early days, but I rock him to sleep for naps (following EASY during the day) and nurse him to sleep at night. I realise the salad days aren't going to last forever, and I think we've seen the beginnings of the 4 month sleep regression the past couple of nights...he's more difficult to put down, waking twice a night instead of once or no times. I can deal with it for now no problem, but I'm sure it'll get worse before it gets better!
My husband and I are committed to sleep training IF its needed - in the past 3 weeks we have mastered drowsy but awake at nighttimes fairly consistently, so maybe he'll learn to self settle, but maybe not.
ANYWAY - my question is two fold. First of all, do you think its too early to cry it out, if this bad sleep continues/is the 4 month sleep regression? Second of all, we're travelling back to Canada at the end of July (he'll be 4.5 months then) for 3 weeks (from Australia - MAJOR time difference). Should I postpone any and all sleep changes like training, moving him out of our room, swaddle weaning, etc. until we get back from Canada? I'm worried to do anything now in case it all turns to shit with jet lag, but the other side of me thinks if we can install good habits now, it might make the travel easier?
Any thoughts? Thanks bees!
