LO is 4.5 months now, and will be 6 months the first week of May. We've been struggling with awful night sleep since 3 months (hourly wakeups at night initially, now we'll maybe get one or two 2-3 hour stretches a night if it's a GOOD night). She's taking like, 5 thirty minute naps a day (ugh), and we've been working on "drowsy but awake" for all of them as our pedi said it'd help carry over to her nighttime wakings.

We're going to Florida in a few weeks, but when we get back, I think we're going to be looking at sleep training, I'm thinking Ferber's CIO with checks.

The "issue" is that she's still been in her RnP for the majority of the night, and then usually, in a fit of desperation around 1-2 in the morning, I'll bring her in bed with me. I've tried to do the crib for naps/night sleep, but can't get her to even transfer into it (obviously I've had her asleep already before putting her in it...problem 1 I'm guessing!) without totally startling herself awake.

Should we just do the crib transition at the same time that we start sleep training (have her CIO in her crib from the get-go)? I don't want to totally overwhelm/scar her, but I don't know what else to do!
