My 5 year old has always been a crap sleeper but I’m just f’ing over it!!! He takes FOREVER to fall asleep and will whine and cry if I don’t sit in his room, on his bed, rubbing his back or cuddling with him. He’s in bed by 7:30/8 every night but typically doesn’t fall asleep for anywhere from 15 min to an hour and a half..., no naps and wakes up between 6:30/7am. I try to hold out but eventually I cave because I just don’t want to deal with the whining and I have some lingering guilt about ending my marriage a year ago. (I’m so grateful for 50/50 custody!!!) I just want an hour of peace and quiet!!!!
on top of it my son just had his 4th COVID test today because any time he gets a slight cold/cough he can’t be in preschool unless he gets a negative test. I totally get it but we just had a week and a half of heavy smoke and hazardous air quality so like...clearly that’s the issue here because half of the kids are out with a “cold”. (We’re in portland or)
