100% Cotton socks
Charcoal shoe bags (insert at end of school day or other sweaty times)
Lume (I like unscented) cream on feet before socks go on in the morning - I know it’s an extra step that probably falls on you but that stuff works

I really think that switching between two pairs of shoes is key. My 2 year old daughter's shoes and feet smell *terrible*. I mean, she's two. She's hardly even sweaty. I also shook some baking soda into her shoes one night and let it sit for a day before shaking it out. The smell was much, much better for at least a week.

If that doesn’t help, try the bamboo socks. Charcoal bags, baking soda, and switching socks/shoes only treats the shoes but you will still have smelly feet, smelly socks and smelly shoes. My kid has used bamboo socks exclusively for a year and while his hands and feet still sweat profusely, there is no more smell on his feet, on his damp socks or in his damp shoes.

(Bad joke) Covid! It's been the cure for the old pee smell in my son's room. Not wincing at the smell was how I realized my sniffer wasn't working. Ok, I'll see myself out.

@Corduroy: this is how I feel about masks. Sometimes it’s nice to have a mask when I’m in the public restroom or when changing my baby’s diaper.
