Do you live in an area that gets a decent amount of snow, have a home with only one car garage but you own two cars?
Do you wish you had a two car garage?
If you both WOH, who gets to park in the garage when it snows?
Have you looked into buying a detached structure that could house the second car?

We have a 1-car garage and 2 vehicles. I get the garage b/c I take the littles in the morning so want a warmer vehicle w/o having to scrape snow.
Dh leaves before me though so he could park his vehicle in the garage, and move mine in when he leaves but usually not worth the extra hassle.
Any other time of the year we both park outside.
I don't think we'll ever get a second structure.

When we rented an apartment, we had this issue, we had 1 underground parking spot, and then 1 outside spot. We just put the newer car in the underground. No LO's at the time.

We have a 2 car garage but no shed (just 1 usable side for a car). So one of our garages is dedicated to the lawnmower, pressure washer, snow blower, etc. I park my car inside the garage, even though I SAHM and DH is the ones who needs to commute to work. My car is the family car, and thus has greater importance over his car, which is a 10 year old 2 seat convertible.

We've solved this problem by filling the garage full of crap and we both park in the driveway. Upside: less shovelling because half the driveway is covered in cars.

Nicest car goes in the garage. But we've moved and both park in the garage now. So much better. Also, when LOs were babes, I parked in the garage--that's enough to deal with without scraping before going somewhere.

We live in a condo with one underground garage spot, and one covered alley spot. DH always used to have the garage, because he had a soft top convertible car, but now with the baby, we got rid of that 2 seat car and now I get the garage spot. It helps too because the carts are in the garage to help get groceries from the car. We will probably switch back this winter because DH's new car is a plug in hybrid, and we just got a plug at our spot in the garage.
We are building a house with a 3 car garage. Next summer can't come soon enough!

We have one spot with no garage and one street spot.
I park on the street because our laneway is too narrow for my car.
The shoveling doesn't bother me.

Like @erinbaderin: we have a one car garage that is too full for us to park in, so we both park in the driveway. I did park in the garage for one wonderful winter, before we got the extra freezer and the snowblower... It was lovely.

We have a two car garage and a carport (the family before us kept a boat in it)
We offered the carport to our neighbors before the blizzard, but they preferred @erinbaderin: 's method of cleaning off cars vs shoveling a driveway

Eh, it wasn't that bad last winter. My commuter car is the car that goes into the garage b/c our garage isn't that big. So our SUV that transports DD is eternally outside. Since I leave first in the morning for work, I turn on the other car so that it's ready when DD (and later on DD1) need to get in. On the weekends one of us will run out to start the car first too. Annoying? Probably, but it is what it is! We are thinking about gifting ourselves remote starter this Christmas!

I would need a two car garage. We have electric cars and need to charge them and my husband would be annoyed about having to play musical cars to charge.
It was a deal breaker when we were house hunting.

@looch: Yeah, I think that is DH's deal breaker when looking for houses. I see a lot of one car garages that we are missing out on.
I did look into building or buying a detached garage and it will probably be $15K at least. Maybe if we found our forever home. But not sure.

@bluestriped bee: I've seen some homes where the one car garage is very deep, you could easily pull in two cars if you don't use it for other stuff.
I'd still look at the homes with one car garages, just in case they're set up like this.

Having a remote car starter is a much bigger deal than a garage for us. We just both park as close to the end of the driveway and DH will shovel when he leaves for work. I'll finish clearing off my car after getting the kids in. Not really a big deal. Shoveling the sidewalk is so much worse and it's something you have to do no matter what. Clearing a car off while you're already out there is nbd.

@skipra: I have a remote starter and it great. I wanted to get one installed when we got DH's car. It's still something we can go back to Toyota and have them do.
Depending on the amount of snow you still to take the snow off your car even with remote start. Remote start is nice is the summer, too. Yeah, I agree remote start is lovely.

When house hunting we specifically bought a 2 car garage as we knew we'd fight over who got the garage if we didn't! We don't have to worry about snow, just frost when it's cold and the crazy heat in the summers.
