I can't. There's too many confidentiality issues, so when I'm at work, I work. And when I'm away from work, I can't accomplish nothing work related.

not really. i guess if i took my work LOs home with me i could, but there really wouldn't be a reason to, unless there was something wrong with their house.

Well..not with my masters degree, unless I set up a confidential office (couple & family therapy).
I'm currently a nanny - so I could watch kids in my home. Not this family - but if I become a SAHM I could find another!

Yep. I do maybe 2-3x a month, or when I'm sick, or when there's a snow storm. Most of my colleagues that I work with on a daily basis are based in other offices (Europe, Asia, Africa, South America), so they don't miss me when I'm not in the office. At my last job I worked from home once a week.

Yeah, I work from home most Fridays, and do at other times as needed.
DH can't at all, which is actually nice in some ways- when he is home, he is always present and not worried about work.

Yes. We actually moved 500 miles away a few months back, and I was able to keep my job by working from home.

When I worked it was possible, even though we were dealing with client sensitive data. You need to have a separate phone line and work space if it was full time, though, and if you had children, you had to prove that they were cared for by someone other than you.

Not even close. Because of Military security and what my actual job is. There is no way.

I can work from home and have in the past when I was sick, had a doctor's appt. etc.. I just wish my job could make it official!

Yes. I try not to abuse it, but I definitely have the option for snow days, sick days when I can still work but don't want to infect the office, days when you have an appointment in the middle of the day... We have a few people who have moved away and work from home full time now.

I can, and should more often,! I never seem to get as much accomplished work-wise when I'm at home though. I do end up getting a lot of house stuff done though:)

I can and do occasionally, I'm a software designer so a lot of my work doesn't matter whether I'm in the office. But it can be easier to get things done and talk to people about stuff by being in the office. It's nice to have the option though.

Yes, I do an hour or two of work in the evenings after the baby is asleep. We have a fledgeling school program, so there is always more work to be done that we can't finish during normal business hours.
I do one day a week onsite and the rest from home. It is one of the big reasons I took this job, knowing I needed to plan for the future with kids.

I can but my boss doesnt seem to approve. He gets distracted working from home and expects I will too.
I reserve it for when Im sick usually, or need to catch up.
Many people in the company do it - some full time. Hoping we can come to an agreement later in pregnancy.

I can, although it's difficult to because I don't have the same setup as I do at work. But in a pinch, it has been great.

Can and sometimes do, although I get easily distracted at home.

I work 3 times a week from home. Trying to go 4 days or FT from home by the end of the year!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I do sometimes. Pretty much everything I do I use the internet for and can access it at home.

Yes, I can definitely work from home and I"m working from home for the next month and then going forward 2 times a week.

Yes, and I love it! Writing and editing are fantastically flexible in that respect; you can do them anywhere.

I work from home full time. I deal with confidential personal data all day, but I have a secure phone line and network to protect the information while I work. I love working from home, especially while I'm pregnant. I've been a full time telecommuter for 2 years now.

I haven't really needed to in the past, but it may be a different story once I go on maternity leave.

I never had a job where I could, but would love to if I ever go back to work.

Yep! Thursdays are my WFH day.... and since BFP I've been working from home on my dr appt days and also any day I haven't felt 100%.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
yes - i wfh 2-3x a week because my company is made up of a lot of telecommuters and we do all our conferencing through webex!

As a social worker, I obviously meet with clients in my office or their homes, but i can bring the extensive paperwork that goes along with my job home and do it after LO goes to sleep (as I should be doing now :). I really appreciate the flexibility and it is so nice to help balance being a FT WOHM and parenting...

I can in a pinch, and I have in the past, but I actually hate working from home. Too many distractions and temptations to have the tv on, snack all day, nap, etc. I'd rather go into the office and work hard all day so that my home time is completely my time.

If I could find an online teaching job, then yes! And, of course, I do all kinds of grading/research/prep at home.
