This is gross and I apologize but What color and consistency is your toddlers poop? I've brought this up to our dr before and he has never seemed concerned, but wondering what's normal. I'm also worried that it's going to be hard to potty train her bc her poop isn't like normal.
DD, 27 mo, poop is sort of like thick split pea soup. It's loose and chunky, not solid.

My daughter is just a few weeks younger and has recently had a change in that area as well! Her poops had been "normal" for the most part up until a couple months back. Now they are much looser again and it has had me wondering if this will pass or if it's her new norm.

it varies. It can be the texture you're describing but it can also be more log-like.

Los is often really soft, like peanut butter. Makes diaper changes SO FUN.

Varies from each poop. Sometimes solid but then most of the time it is looser. Color varies too.

thanks all - so it sounds like it's normal-ish. LO's also varies, but it's never the solid, log like kind. Just wondering how it's going to go when we start potty training in a few months!

DS is 29m and that sounds like most of his poops. Occasionally it will be solid log looking but not often.

I felt the same way when my kids starting using the toilet - when he pooped in his diaper it was all smooshed and looked very loose like.
But surprise - when they poop in the toilet it comes out like a log! I think going in a diaper makes it look worse than it is.

Our LO's are like peanut butter (and pea soup sometimes) too, and he just started using the potty in the evenings and they're log-like in the potty. I think they smush around so much in the diaper because they're so active at this age. When his poop is more log like in his diaper it's because he's been constipated and he cries when he poops. Our pediatrician said the peanut butter consistency is good / normal. For what it's worth
