I plan to wear the dress to work in the hottest of the hot days, but I am stumped on what I can do to make it look more grown up...i was thinking patent navy peep toes?

I think the model's red patent pumps look good. Otherwise I would do patent peep toe pumps in navy/black ( I can't tell what color it is)

Huh, so apparently it's really difficult to find a not old lady looking navy peep toe pump that's in my size and not too expensive (under $50)!

@looch: Navy pumps are the hardest to find. I got mine from like a Shoe Station or some random cheap store. But they work for the few times I wear a navy dress.
What about a brown like Camel strappy wedge?

@T.H.O.U.: apparently! I might have a pair of navy pumps, but I think they have a white cap toe, and that would not look good with this dress.
I have to see what other options I have, I feel like cognac works with navy, but I don't know how I feel with cognac and the fuschia.

@lawbee11: well, I am 5'4" and weigh about 152 pounds right now and I ordered a size 8 thinking it could be my goal dress to get into by the end of the summer...for funsies I slipped it on this morning and it fit! I am a solid 10 in Banana Republic for comparison purposes.
So they are generously cut.

I got my navy pumps from Shoedazzle or JustFab, I can't rememeber which one. It was the only place where they didn't look old ladyish.

@looch: I think you could change the belt to a natural leather tone belt and do similar shoes (probably natural leather wedges, light or dark brown would work), which would up the maturity factor a bit. ETA: depending on the shoe, this could be dressy enough for work, or dressed down a bit for weekend/more casual wear.
I also think navy cork/espadrille wedges (like what Kate Middleton wears all the time) would work well, too. And with that shoe option, you have plenty of belt options.
My third suggestion would be to replace the belt with a skinny black patent belt and then do black patent peep toe pumps/wedges. I also think this will up the sophistication slightly. ETA: This would be my pick (because it is more sleek, and lets the dress speak for itself without competing for attention with the belt/shoes) 
ETA: Even a spectator-type pump would work, too!

@MsLipGloss: those are all interesting options...the Kate Middleton shoes, refresh my memory on the brand? I know they're pricey, but maybe I can get some inspiration. I hadn't thought about swapping out the belt, but I like that idea, and that would allow me to bring in the cognac (do you think cognac and fuschia pair well together?).
I feel like red isn't appropriate for the office. It's fine for a brunch or party, but red shoes in the office? I just don't know.

@looch: Kate's navy cork wedges are from Stuart Weitzman (I think they are called "Corkswoon").
I think cognac pairs beautifully with fuchsia.
I think red can work at work, but it has to be the right red . . . it must be a deeper red (no orange red . . . a more blue/red (which will read more true and understated/sophisticated) and not too high (I would never go higher than 4", and that's only due to your height . . . lovelies 5'6" and above should not go above 3.5" inches, unless they work in a very fashion forward environment (which is not most people). ETA: and if I wore red shoes, I would opt for a skinny black patent belt . . . definition and polish without the shoe/belt competing and without looking too matchy matchy.

@looch: I LOVE the first dress (red print with cap sleeves and split neck) . . . that can be worn so many ways! I would love to pair it with a wide leather belt and strappy sandals (for more casual), a subdued snake print belt/shoe (I am a complete sucker for python . . . much like the metallic shoe option I posted the other day) . . . because the pattern would be subtle enough to not compete with the floral, and would bring an edge to the ensemble. ETA: and of course, any/all metallics (I would probably go for a mix of gold/silver/bronze) would also be a great option, too!
The second dress . . . the squared neckline with the white background makes it feel a little Easter Sunday to me . . .

@looch: I agree. Even with the sexy strappy sandals the model is wearing, I still think of it as a dress better suited for a young girl. I also think, proportionally, the dress would have a tendency to make its wearer look bottom heavy, due to the concentration of pattern on the bottom half of the dress.
