After reading a ton of reviews and researching them, we decided not to get one. I read so many complaints about the leg holes not being big enough for baby. There were also a lot of complaints about the short amount of time it was usable. I didn't think it was worth the money. There are also complaints of babies flipping themselves backwards.

We decided to get the Mamas & Papas BabySnug instead. We use it all the time for feeding DS. It can be used with the colored insert when LO is smaller and then without it once they are older. It's good for 18+ months. It really turned out to be an awesome purchase!

After reading all the negative reviews, I was convinced I wouldn't get one. But knowing how my LO loves the sitting up position, we will most likely get one - but not a Bumbo, a Prince Lionheart one with the tray & accessories. It's supposed to have bigger holes for the legs (my baby has some drumsticks on her) so she can use it a little longer.

@regberadaisy: Actually, a pediatric physical therapist we saw said the bumbo can actually create bad posture and is not a natural way to sit. If you look closely, the spot for the bum is lower than the legs. I guess its designed that way to keep the baby sitting down in there?

We bought a used one because they are super cheap used (like $10). I was happy we had it for the few times we used it. By the time she was big enough to use it, she could push backwards and tip over so we always had to be sitting right there with her (even if its on the floor). So at that point, if we are sitting with her on the floor, we just preferred to be holding her. Maybe better for the 2nd kid?

Again, we were happy we spent the $10 on it but wouldn't spend more than that.

EDIT - I used the bumbo so I could take her picture in front of the Christmas tree last year!

I also got mine secondhand for $10. I'm happy with it for that price! LO isn't here yet, but like @thehistoryofus said, I plan to use it to get some fun photos in December when LO is 3 months old!

I got mine for free from a friend and we loved it! I think it HELPED LO learn to sit on her own...She sat up by herself at 5 months.

@regberadaisy: We were gifted a used bumbo and we tried it for the first time yesterday and its awesome. She was able to sit for about 10 minutes and she was so happy and laughing her head off. But after a while she seemed a bit tired so we took her out. its definitely much better than a boppy in terms of sitting support so if you can get one used, I recommend it

I like ours but we have to try if off her thighs!

We started using it daily at 8w - LO had really good head control and needs lots of entertainment. So, I have been sitting him in his bumbo and talking to him while I do email or mail, etc. I only do it for short periods of time, like 5 minutes, and always supervise the time. If he starts to slouch or becomes tired, I take him out. He's 11w and loves it.

We got ours from a friend (because I'm too cheap to spend $40) on something that *might* be used for a month. I'm glad we didn't spend anything on it because she used it for less than a week before she learned how to fall backwards in it. Needless to say it's sitting in the closet now.

BUT - I do think it's good for pictures if your LO isn't sitting up on his/her own yet.

We got one and never used it. Any time I put Liv in it she puked, so Id say she sat in it a grand total of like 5 times.

@Sweet T: We have the BabySnug as well and really like it.

We borrowed one from a friend and DS loves to sit in it and watch me while I cook in the kitchen. I would definitely not pay full retail price for one. I've also seen them go for $10 at baby consignment stores. DS has chubby thighs and it's hard to get him out of the Bumbo sometimes.

We love it. It's great for having a way to sit when they aren't ready for a real high chair. My girls loved hanging out in the kitchen with me. Wonder Baby has chunky thighs, so we do have to pull it off her in hot weather but it's more funny than an actual problem.

@Crumbs: My LO had mega-chubs so we got her a bebepod. She liked it well enough but I LOVED it cause it had a really heavy base so she can't tip over and it had a seat belt to keep her in. I used it up through 13 months but mainly as a seat for LO for when I put on makeup. We have a large bathroom counter where she would sit in it (supervised, of course) and play with toys while I put on makeup.

My LO loves it.
She hates laying back or even slightly leaning back so this is great for her. She is pretty thin so I don't have a problem with the leg holes being too small.
