I swear I just washed a brand new 8 pack of socks for LO. And 3 socks are missing and of course they are all part of a different pair!
Does the sock theif run rapid in your house?

My problem isn't the washer/dryer. My problem is the cat. She goes into the hamper and picks out D's socks and then takes them God-knows-where. Someday when we move we're going to find a huge jackpot of socks, balls, and bread twisties.

The sock fairy rules in our laundry room! She's crazy, too - once I pulled out THREE of the same sock..... I must have had two pairs the same, I must have, but I really, honestly didn't know it until I pulled out three grey socks with purple watering cans on....!

@littlebug: My cat likes to shove twist ties down the ac vents. I pulled a huge hoard of them out the first time I figured out what she was doing with them. Don't think socks will fit there though.

Mesh laundry bags are very helpful for this.

My DD is the sock theif in our house. She *loves* to help "sort" laundry... things are always ending up in weird places or in the wrong loads.
