We want to get out daughter a stuffed bunny for Easter. She will be about 10 months old and I have hopes she might gravitate to it as a lovey since she hadn't chosen anything yet and this will be the first stuffed animal we have given her. So I want it to be super soft and snuggly, yet durable. Does anyone have experience with how Jellycat compares to Mary Meyer Marshmallow Zoo? Or any other suggestions?

@meesker: My MIL sells the mary meyer stuffed animals in her shop and they are soo soft. I love them. We got him a brown rabbit for Easter. She's also given him several others and they are favorites and they hold up really well.

Softest ones DD has are her jellycat bunny and some stuffed animals from the Disney store (Lambie from Doc Mcstuffins is especially soft!)

One thing to note about either brand is that the really fluffy, longer/curlier "fur" (like on the owl), is going to get a bit flattened/matted and won't be so soft after a few months of being snuggled, sucked on, and sent through the washer.
I don't think this should change your mind, but I was shocked and how quickly my daughter's soft puppy became decidedly less cuddly. She doesn't mind though, she loves him just as hard!
I could be doing something wrong though - If anyone has tips on re-softening formerly fluffy fur, I'd love to hear them!

Definitely agree with Gund! Especially their "My First" items, which don't have hard eyes. Xander LOVES his "My First Teddy" and snuggles with it every night.

My son has both a Jellycat and a Gund bear and I find them equally soft but neither is his lovey. His is a bear head on a blankey that's also soft - I think it's the form of this lovey he finds cuddly. We got it as a gift but if I was going to get him one I would get the Jellycat soother like this Jellycat

I hope this will be her lovey when she's older. My mom brought it to her in the hospital when she was born.

i love Ikea Stuffed animals they are so soft and squishy, no hard eyes and you can't beat the price. We have the cat and the elephant w/ baby, but they have 2 different bunnies

DD loves her Jellycats and also her Bunnies By the Bay (http://www.bunniesbythebay.com/shop/books-and-toys/plush-toys#intro). I have washed and dried all her stuffies, even if they say spot-clean only, and they've help up just fine so far.

We love our jelllycat bunny but the fur became a lot less soft after going through the washing machine a few times. I probably didn't do it correctly though.

Another option similar to the Jellycat soother is the Angel Dear lovey. We have three that we wash pretty regularly and they have stayed very soft so far (a few months in to lovey use). They have a lot of different options, most you can find on Amazon.

We just bought a jellycat bunny and dd is obsessed with it - it's the one and only stuffed animal that she's become attached to or really paid any attention to.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to have to hit up the local toy store and baby boutique and see if I can compare them in person.
