Would you ever put up solid deck railings? I am not a fan at all but DH really wants to do this for privacy. Its standard height,, so like 3-4 feet? - Not sure how much privacy you would get anyway.
This is the only pic I could find online - I told DH it wouldn't be good for resale either when we move in 3 years
Thoughts?

If I was looking at 2 houses that were even on my "like" list, one with a solid deck rail like that would lose. We just tore out 9 huge arbevitae that were surrounding our deck because didn't like the feeling of being closed in. Granted they were like 9 feet tall, but still. I prefer open!

I would do it if I lived in a really dense, urban area. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't - I'd rather get more privacy with a taller privacy fence around my property.

It doesn't bother me. It also wouldn't turn me off if I was buying the house.

Not a fan, the point of being outside is to be and feel like you're outside. That would make me feel closed in. However, it wouldn't be a deal breaker if I like the house over all.

That isn't my favorite look, but it definitely wouldn't keep me from buying the home if I liked it overall.
