i've heard a few ppl tell me this... in our family, i do look more like my dad; while my brother looks like my mom!
dh looks like a mix of both of his parents, kind of more like his dad though...

My DD looks nothing like me...splitting image of DH!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
funny! Ppl said I looked more like my dad growing up but now that I'm an adult I think I look more like my mom.
So far DS looks more like me!
I don't want DD to look like DH though, he's too hairy and manly lol.
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
I look like my dad. Not sure who DH looks like... a mix of both, but I'd lean slightly more towards his dad. L looks just like DH - no mistaking her for his daughter!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@mrsjyw: if I have a DD and she gets DH's eyebrows... I'll be taking her for a waxing when she's 8 hahaha!! and shaving her legs at 10
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
DD looks like both of us. She has DH's eyes and ears, but everything else comes from my side of the fam!
When I was younger I looked exactly like my dad. Now that I'm older I'm a mix of my parents.
Curious to see what baby boy looks like!

They both look like me! Heh. But opinions are actually pretty split in terms of who they each look like. I guess my husband and I have similar features?
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
My mom and I have always been told we look alike. People see her pictures from when she was my age and freak out trying to figure out if it's me or my mom.

When I was born and through my infancy, there was no doubt I was my dad's daughter. Thankfully, I've grown into more feminine features. Ha!
pomegranate / 3516 posts
I have more of my dad's traits but everyone thinks I look like my mom now.
As soon as LO was born I realized she looks just like me and about 98% of people agree with that. She is tall like DH though.

I hope DD gets A LOT of DH's facial features...His eyes and 10 foot long eyelashes, and his killer dimples and smile. But he has a boy nose, so I can't picture it on a girl. So hopefully there's some truth to that for us!

So far my DS is a spitting image of my DH (with a couple throw-bac features mixed in from both sides) and I have been told he doesn't look like me.

I look a lot like my mom did when she was my age. My brother also looks more like my mom. DH definitely looks more like his mom. I think it can go either way!

i look like my mom and my brother looks like my dad no doubt. but everyone tells me olive looks like mr bee. charlie they say looks like mr bee 50% looks like me 50%. i dunno.... i'm not good at seeing things like that!

My brother and i both look like my dad
DD looks like my husband...I really hope any future DSs don't look like me!
pear / 1723 posts
Yep. Our girl looks like her dad, or at least his side of the family, and our boy looks just like me as a baby. Even their skin color...hubs is darker than me. But they both have his almond eyes
bananas / 9973 posts
Hmmm.. I'm with @cocobee on this one! Would be scared for DD to have her daddy's eyebrows! Yikes!
I look like my dad I've been told my whole life. Sister looks more like my mom's side of the family and brother looks more like dad's side of the family. DH & SIL both take after his mom's side.

I was fully expecting DD to look like her pappa. But she looks a lot like me when I was younger! People have even told us that she doesn't get any of her looks from dad! I kind of makes me feel bad, but DH is completely fine with it. What they don't see is she has his chin, hands, and a identical copy of his feet!
We think it's all about the eyes. If you're mixed raced and your baby has more Asian eyes, it kind of dominates the whole appearance. With that said, I'm glad she got my eyes! I'm crossing my fingers she has my vision too!

BTW, I look like my dad (like his sisters) and my brother looks like my mom. The weird thing is my bro and I look a lot like each other.
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
Every single person who knows us all say that my boy looks just like his dad. DS got my eye shape and that seems to be about it so far, lol.
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
I'm not sure about our lo yet (the u/s tech did say she has my features), but its totally wrong for the hubs and I. Though I have my dad's eye color and huge head, I get told I look just like my mom by everyone who sees us. Hubs is his dad's little clone, which is too weird... I guess I know what to expect in 30 years!

Everyone, myself included, think DS is the spitting image of DH. I don't see me in there at all! There's no doubt he's a McK. MIL likes to joke that she's only sure he's mine because she watched him come out! The only one who doesn't think he looks just like DH is DH himself!
I hope he eventually gets something from me though!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
I look like a mix of my parents, and I think LO is too. Sometimes she will make a face and it's my husband - so eerie. Other times she's a mini me!
clementine / 961 posts
DS is my mini me He looks just like me when I was little. DD looks just like DH. They have the same nose, ears, head shape, etc. She is the spitting image of him.
pear / 1554 posts
DD looks exactly like her dad. She looks nothing like me. When we were living in Japan, everyone told us it's good for girls to look like their fathers and boys to look like their mothers.
clementine / 773 posts
Everybody in DH's family says DS looks exactly like him when he was a baby. We see a mix of both of us.
@Crumbs: I agree about the mixed race and eyes. I think that's a big reason why DH's family thinks DS looks like him.
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21628 posts
I look a lot like my dad. I'm expecting my kids to look like my husband because he looks just like his dad. There are some strong genes there.
pineapple / 12526 posts
C is starting to look a little more like me but she is a little carbon copy of her daddy! She's going to have my hair and possibly my eye color though.
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
A couple of friends of ours had a daughter about 5 months ago and she looks JUST like her daddy. It is so adorable! I hope our DD comes out looking like her dad.
pomelo / 5178 posts
I look just like my mom (all my sisters do), and DH is the spitting image of his dad. It's crazy how much they look alike (and how similar their mannerisms are; they even walk the same!).
I think my kids are a pretty combination of DH and I. I would say DD is prettier than me, actually. She has finer features. I think DS looks more like me, but he's built just like DH , so it's a toss up.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
I've always heard I look like my mom, and that DD looks like me and she looks like my mom...must be true
pomegranate / 3008 posts
My son is a clone of my husband.
I look more like my mom but my older sister is more like my dad.
I've hear (old wives tale I would imagine) that first kids typically look more like the dad to help males "bond" with their kids.
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
We get a lot of mixed responses - people can't seem to decide... but more people say that DD looks like DH. And people say me and DH look alike!
